Going into Friday's game I thought Portsmouth's speed would be a big problem. I thought we were fine after the changes to the defense.

It's just an opinion, but the defense that was on the field the second half is good enough to be in every game. I believe if we could start the season right now with that unit we are 2-0 right now and full of optimism instead of doubt.

About the team having kids back. We've lost 2 all conference caliber players of the o-line in Reynolds and Scott. That has hurt our offense big time and made the strength of the team a weakness. Losing Reynolds on defense is bigger than that as he was the headhunter type linebacker that you need in a 50 defense.

Really want a W for the SOC team here, but it's gonna be a tough one. Chillicothe has played 2 pretty decent Division 2 teams in Hamilton TWP and almost pulled out the W vs. Big Walnut.

Best of luck to West..

We arent as young as one would think. We have 9 seniors, 8 of which had significant playing time last year or started. In addition we have 11 Juniors, 3 of which received significant playing time. Whats hurt us the most is that we lost all of our playmakers at once...we just need a couple of guys to step and decide they are going to win the game for us.
I was thinking we only have 8 seniors and only 7 of them start, an only 4 or 5 of them go both ways. I think silver bulletz 1 was referring to the d-fense last week most of the time we had 7 or 8 underclassmen and most of the second half 3 were sophs and 1 freshman. I heard there is going to be some changes on offense this week and we will be younger there also. Was there a jv game lastnight if so what was the outcome.

Chilly will never be good again until Hinton utilizes the speed. Running the ball 60% of the time will not win very many ball games with those kids. We are faster than 90% of the teams we play but we try to muscle opponents like were Amanda. Good luck gettin that through to Hinton though. He wont be there much longer.

West needs to come into this game confident, but not cocky. They cannot overlook any team from here on out (not saying chilli is bad, because I know nothing about them). They haven't had the best start to the season but if they focus they can have a chance to win a lot of the remaining games. It's going to come down to the athletes knowing the fundamentals of their position and not hesitating to make a play.

I would like to know where all this Chillicothe "speed" is. Hamilton Township had speed, case in point they ran down our "fastest" guys from behind several times and ran away from our "fastest" guys all the time. We are not the Chillicothe of old where we had tailbacks that ran a 4.4 or 4.5. fourty. I'm not sure we have any of those guys and it shows on the track team. Our sprint team is not very good. We just don't have those burners of old.

We are not faster than 90% of the teams we play. Hamilton Twp, Big Walnut, Thurgood Marshal, DeSales, Portsmouth are all faster than Chillicothe, right there is 50% of the teams we play. Jackson, Warren, Gallia are all as fast if not faster than Chillicothe so now we are up to 80% is faster. We are faster than Ports. West and Logan so we are faster than 20% of the teams. Stop living in the past and see the kids of Chillicothe for what they are...they are not the kids of the 80's and early 90's.

Anyone that thinks Hinton should go is crazy. We will lose alot this year compliments of our schedule and our scheduler. We will win in 2013. Our league will be easier for sure and we won't have DeSales and Marshal on the schedule.

Give him one more year if he lays a big fat egg in his fourth year then yea start looking. Getting rid of him in his third year with 4 yes 4 seniors...seniors that don't play the biggest role on the team and a year where the schedule might be the toughest in southern ohio if not all ohio...well that would just be convienent for the people who have alternitive motives behind getting rid of the Coach..IMO

Directions to Herrnstein Field (from Waverly):
North on US 23.
Once reaching Chillicothe, follow US 35 Dayton Exit.
Take the Ohio 104 Exit off US 35.
Turn left on Ohio 104 South (aka High Street)
Turn right on Arch Street (after you pass Papa John's Pizza)
Herrnstein Field is three blocks west on Arch Street.
Visitors seating is on the East side of the field (near the former Smith Middle School).
Cheerleaders are having a Tenderloin sale ($6 for sandwich, chips and pop) near the visitors stands from 4:30p-7p.
Also, the Dodge Corporation Test Drive Experience is on the north end of Herrnstein Field. Dodge makes a $20 contribution to the CHS TD Club for every test drive taken. No sales pitch or obligation, just a shot a driving the new 2013 Dodge Dart and other vehicles. Need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Hope that helps our visitors from the West Side and welcome to Ohio's First Capital!

noreply: I stand corrected. I was basing that observation on the last two years of football games. I just assumed we were faster. But that prooves my point even more. The only team Chillicothe is faster than is possible Ports. West. So we are faster than 10% of the teams we play. NOT GOOD!

Although I am not from Chillicothe, I would highly recommend Old Canal Smokehouse for the pre game meal or after game eats. I made my first trip there last weekend and the brisket and smoked ribeye are phenominal!

Although the $6 tenderloin special sounds really good too!

If you are looking at most track runners going out for football [????] Chillicothe would have the 2nd fastest team in the league but that is not always the case.
