ny96,

I have heard from more than one source that Wahama stays.Titletown TVC wrote:That's fine. I just think if you are gonna have a thread about future tvc divisions that we should deal with the very real possibility that we won't be part of it. Many of those hockling schools don't want to be forced to improve in order to compete. maybe the tvc can absorb the SEOAL and go to three divisions. They could call the big division the SEOAL division and the small one the SVAC division.
The SEOAL expanded to quickly, the TVC has taken a slower approach and it is working.Fortdawg wrote:I stand in favor of the status quo---the league seems to be doing fine right now. Look at all the teams that have made the playoffs from both divisions---why mess with this? I understand that Miller dreads the trip to South Gallia and Belpre because of the distance and vice versa but, as I mentioned above I'd let teams mix and match when it comes to all sports other than football. There will be some grumbling when people start to make school night trips to RV in the Ohio but, the 2 divisions serve us well. Look to the SEOAL and see what expansion did for it----if it's not broken it's badly bent.

Adding Warren, and even Gallia and Jackson would be good for the league. I was against expansion in the beginning. I was okay with Wahama and South Gallia but adding and changing Divisions around didn't seem like a good idea to me. After a lot of time and talking to a lot of non Football coaches, I came around to the idea......I'm not saying that any of those schools will be invited or accept if invited, I'm just saying they would strengthen our League and thats all that matters.
Everyone complains about travel time.... Come on down to Kentucky, see how far these schools have to drive to get to games, then complain about travel time.Fortdawg wrote:Play who ever you want (if they'll play you) but, don't force your decisions on others. There is nothing stopping people from playing all the SEOAL schools and Marietta. I just don't think it is in everyones's interest to play them---and that's what happens if you bring them in the league. I keep thinking about the other sports---spring especially---where numbers really matter and the school night road trips. What time does the VC girls make it back from Warren after a girls BB game on a Monday night? They may choose to do that but does Wellston want to? I bet some of these schools wouldn't want that game or that trip.
I think you're right. The TVC won't have odd numbered divisions very long. Its difficult to schedule late season non league games... Everyone knows this. So either the TVC needs to add one more school, big or small, or split the hocking up with a 6 team division and a 4 team division. (With river valley as a member of the hocking).A-Town Big Dog 2 wrote:I'm not trying to force SEOAL schools onto anyones schedule or Marietta for that matter, just stating an opinion of possible scenarios that I feel are realistic. The TVC is sorta stuck with the current Hocking division being so big and both halves staring at uneven numbers making scheduling more difficult (not impossible but more difficult) that I think change is necessary for the overall long term health of the league.

Also...If any of these teams were to join the TVC, they would have to be VOTED in. If they were VOTED into the league, the teams that voted no would just have to suck it up because they agree to the rules and bylaws pertaining to adding new members.......
Lets be honest here Jackson and Gallia isn't that far of a trip for the schools they would be playing.
No one is asking Miller to travel to Gallia!![]()
