Re: South Webster vs. Wheelersburg
i was a little disapointed with the lack of chances that the pirates had last night. never really challenged the SW keeper at all in this one. sw had a good game plan and the pirates were defending virtually all night, and the midfield didnt push up quick enough when they had a few counter attack opportunities. I would have liked to see more than 5 guys in the box for burg in the final minutes when they forced a corner kick, instead they had 5 defenders at midfield on 1 SW player. but this team has potential and I think they'll only get better. good luck going forward to both Burg and sw

Re: South Webster vs. Wheelersburg
With the turf giving advantage to the possession-style team, I expected SW to run away with this one. But Burg hung in there until late, I was impressed. Early on neither team could get any good looks at the goal. But in the 2nd half the pirates seemed to ware down, allowing SW to create more space and get some good opportunities. Also, I would like to know how many throw-ins the Jeeps had on their offensive third... Those long throws were gifts from the pirates back line, and SW took advantage.
And yes Bunt Pirate, burg's 5 man defensive formation didn't do their offense any favors late in the game.

Yea it was a sub par game played by both teams. I really thought it got a little rough towards the end there. The refs gave on card but i thought there should have been at least few more. Esp some pushing going on late, but all in all a decent game. Not at all fun to watch but it was competitive. and i agree with lewisville that the long ball doesnt work for them on the turf, i think its time for a change in philosophy over there. burg doesnt have the greatest athlete on the field anymore like they once did. just aint gonna win u the big ones

Re: South Webster vs. Wheelersburg
the game has changed over the years. after seeing sw's defense last night. wow, what we tried to do in attacking didn't achieve anything. it almost looked like the jeep defense was getting involved and supporting the attack upfront, all while shutting down thurmer as well. the only touches he really had on the ball was when he threw the ball in. he's a great player but had a quiet night. sw might not have a powerhouse offense but their defense is TOUGH. i was impressed by that. i think the next match might tell a different story...
Re: South Webster vs. Wheelersburg
Gotta have a mid field to get the ball into the forward third. The ball rolling there on its own does not count. It is to be handled in the forward third. Not sure of shots on goal, but had to be few for pirates.

I do believe that Burg is behind the times in the style of their play and it hurts them
