Coal Grove vs Ready
Went and saw Ready play. They are good. have a good QB and fast backs. Their defense was decent. Hornets better bring their A game. Any thoughts on this game this week?

Their defense was "decent"??? They beat Fredericktown 49-14. They play good competition and have given up under 11 pts a game so far.ohio football wrote:Went and saw Ready play. I know playing Ready is better than playing only 8 games, but this one wont be close......at all!
Long ride up, really long ride back for the Grove.
Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
The Hornets are really banged up with injuries but I am sure they won't back down. I applaud them for playing good teams from Columbus. You need to play teams like Ready, Burg and Valley and learn how to beat them if you want to be a playoff program. Go Hornets!
Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
I look for the Grove to bounce back this week, maybe even upset Bishop Ready. last years' Hornets were leading until very late in the 4th qtr against this team. also, the only hope the Grove has to make the playoffs, is to win the rest of their games, and get A LOT of help. so the Hornets bettter be bringing their best game to Columbus.

Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
The only comment I can think of for this week is this, the Grove has had two weeks to prepare for Ready. If given two weeks to prepare for a team back in the day I would almost book the Grove a win, but this team has to show that they want it. I know there are boys on this team that go out and give 110% every play, and for that I applaud them, my worry is the players who back it down to 70, 80 percent after getting down by a few scores. I don't mean to rail on this team but I am tired of the look that alot of these players have which is "I am out here, but I don't really know if I want to be out here".
Anyway, best case scenerio for this week
Coal Grove 24
Bishop Ready 21

Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
With a weeks rest and recouperation under there belts Coal Grove may be at there best this week but its going to take a great effort to hang with Ready.
GO GROVE !!

Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
Ready has a very good QB with excellent touch on his passes.
They have a really solid running back that is quick.
They have a pair of talented rec with the shorter of the two being very good.
The defense will bring it and they are coached really well.
I watched them beat NC pretty easily when all was said and done.

Re: Coal Grove vs Ready
I have seen both play this year. Bishop Ready wins. Does the Grove have the running back they lost to injury back or is he out for the season?

Team
Wynford
Hillsdale
Wheelersburg
Fredricktown
East Knox
Valley
Oak Hill
Loudonville
Coal Grove
Ridgewood
Liberty Union
Federal Hocking
Bucyrus
Nelsonville-York
Alexander
Columbus Academy
Grandview Heights
Crooksville
Smithville
Portsmouth West
Centerburg
Crestview
If I did my math right this could be the Grove's place in the points with a win and a few other things happening. So, for those players that look at this sight I will put a challenge out to them. How bad do you want it?

If the Hornets come out ready to play and play disciplined smash mouth hornet football for the full four quarters then they will come home with a big win. "HEART AND GUTS"
GOOD LUCK HORNETS! !!!!!!

I'd LOVE it if the Hornets pulled out a win. Great secondary points and great representation from southern Ohio. However!!!! Not gonna happen. I hate to say, but I think Ready wins by whatever they want.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!airborne wrote::aaaaa17 halftime Coal Grove 8 Ready 44........
The score itself is not as shocking as they manner in which it just exploded on the scene. I was worried that the Hornets were facing a drubbing due to how talented Ready is this year, but with the Grove striking first and staying even after one, I was beginning to think I was pleasantly WRONG about my pre-game prediction. But, apparently the wheels just came off in the 2nd quarter
