I say Burg starts winning by soooo much that Larry Hall gives up defensive coaching duties and joins up with Burg's student section in cheering for his hometown.
Final score

When the mighty burg band breaks out the fight song I'm hoping the coaching staff for ironman don't start cheering. But down deep I'm sure they will be tapping their toes.

Being a much bigger school we would give Wheelersburg major computer pouints if they should win but heres another thought for them to ponder......

DROP IRONTON FROM THE SCHEDULE and pick up Ashland. They would win probably more often than they do against Ironton and a win over Ashland gives an Ohio team MAJOR computer points..... much more tha a rare win over Ironton gives them....with the way they figure the computer points just look at the points Ironton gets over the course of the year with a win over Ashland, a DII school. Ashland, being no more competition and probably not as much as Ironton is year in and year out would figure to be a much better pick for wheelersburgs schedule than Ironton.
Just look at the big leap Ironton just made from last week with the win over Ashland.... from about 3rd or 4th place to a COMMANDIND lead over St. Clairesville who also won but is now in second place and by a full 2 points....
Just a thought..
I agree 100% about the idea of picking up Ashland in Ironton's place if the Tomcats schedule has the opening. I think it's a great idea!!

As for tonight's game, I've gone back and forth a few times. I think I like Burg's chances. I think Jackson is going to move the ball, put up points and be difficult for Burg to gain yards/field position on at times. But, I like the resiliency of this Pirates team and honestly, I think they'll find a way to move the ball in the second half and be in the game down the stretch. If they are able to do that, I think Burg will win the coaching battle and the game as long as the kids execute. Regardless of winner, I think it's going to be a pretty good football game and well worth the price of admission.

Wheelersburg scores on the first possession of the game on a long run by Eddie Miller after a couple of nice completions by Miller, and after the kick by Dylan Miller, the Pirates led 7-0.

Jackson goes three-and-out on their first possession and the Pirates take over again.

The Pirates converted on a third and long and are currently around the 45 yard line (I believe Jackson's 45....Roger is tough to understand as usual)

Apparently, the Pirates had the ball at their own 45. E Miller just broke a solid run down to the Jackson 41 yard line. E Miller already has 72 yards rushing on 4 carries.

E Miller to D Miller on the completion (I think for another first down??)

E Miller just threw his first incomplete pass of the night....now 5-6

Wheelersburg 13 - Jackson 0 midway through the first quarter

Jackson goes 3 & out again on their second possession with 3:21 to go in the 1st quarter!

Following a nice Jackson punt, the Pirates will take over 1st & 10 inside their own 30 yard line, now with 3:07 to go in the fist quarter...

Wheelersburg converts their 4th 3rd down (4-4) on the night, as E Miller breaks a long run (he has over 130 yards rushing already!)

On 2nd and 3, E Miller hits D Miller with a touchdown pass!!!

Pirates going for 2...............conversion is no good.

Wheelersburg 19 - Jackson 0 with 43 seconds to go in the first quarter!!

Let's go SOC!!!!!!!
