Southern will have the best post player in Southeastern Ohio. they will be better than most people realize and not just because of him.

The best player in southeastern Ohio? Did they get a transfer?

I don't think they even have the best in the hocking.I would go with Belpre and Fed in that category.

I agree with Fred, the best big man in the league is at Federal Hocking with the Carney boy. I do think the Drummer boy from Southern is a good player but lets see how he plays without all the playmakers around him. People will focus on him this year. I might even throw in the Hook kid from Miller hes just a Junior and had a nice season for the falcons last year

Belpre's Jake Ullman will be playing for Parkersburg Catholic this year. He had some personal issues at belpre. Best of luck to Jake, you will be missed.

Wow, that's a huge loss for Belpre.

Huge loss isn't the word for it! Belpre will struggle to score points without Ullman. Leasure and Hoffman must now try to fill this huge void.

Losing Ullman and Nestor will hurt but I still think Belpre will be one of the better teams in the league. I thought Leasure really stepped his game up in the tournament last year. One of the more athletic big men in the league. Hoffman had some big games last year as well so I would say they will still be in the mix.

I really hope your right hate to see ANY team lose a top player this close to the start of the season. Debth will be big factor as few kids even have varsity experience. Ullman was a proven scorer and that kinda leadership just doesn't appear. It has to come with time. Scoring when your the #2 or #3 guy isn't the same. Teams prepare for you differently and your mental approach to the game is different. Everybody has times when your shots not falling and everything's going bad that's where you miss that maturity and experience.

With Belpre losing Ullman I think that knocks them down a level. I think Federal is the favorite now with about 5 teams in a pack behind them. This makes this years Hocking race very interesting.

With Belpre loseing their stud. It looks like coach Caldwell is the favorite to win the title. Which Caldwell? Time will tell
