Re: Water leak ruins new GAHS cage floor
This happened to Piketon a few years back. Lucky for them it was late fall and a straight line wind actually picked the roof up and slammed it back down. The contractors did not bolt the trusses to the wall! There were kids in the gym at the time and they said it sounded like a sonic boom going off. The contractor whou built the place had filed chapter 13, but the owner had another contracting business and legally we could not go after him. The school had to file a claim, pay the difference that the insurance wouldnt pay and then the insurance went up!
Luckily the floor that was ruined by the leak that the faulty roof caused was off to the side and did not interfere with the playing surface.
Good luck GAHS in getting this fixed.

Understand work will begin Wednesday, Oct. 10 to replace the new GAHS gym floor

Tribune had a couple p-1 pics and story where work began Monday on replacement floor. AD said he hopes gym will be ready for season opener.

Seen pics as of yesterday. Old floor is up already. May have a season opener after all.

Sounds like good old Trimat Inc. strikes again? LOLRaiderball wrote:Heard about this couple days ago. Sad.
Do they know how this happened?
I guess the folks in power in Gallia County learned a hard lesson on choosing contractors and it took them getting run out of business to make sure this never happens again.
Sorry to hear it, that is a really nice facility and a shame.
Hope for the kids and parents sake it's fixed before Dec.

It would be a shame for this senior class not to get to play ball in the new gym! Praying it gets fixed asap!!!
