Week 6: Huntington (3-2) @ Unioto (3-2)

Post by HighLightReel »

Both teams are coming off a loss after having some momentum starting 3-1 before week 5. Thoughts and opinions?

It will be tough for Huntington to stop Vanderpool.. But it will be tough to see the Shermans try to stop Huntington whole offense!
Goodluck to Both teams!
Huntington Takes this one by a couple scores

HHS wide open attack will create problems but Piketon exposed some weeknesses in the Huntington D and was able to run the ball very effectively.
Unioto runs the ball very well.

Huntington is known for the spread offense and Unioto for there defense creating turnovers. This is another great matchup in my opinion.

I have not seen unioto play but if Huntington can't stop the run (they have had problems doing such all year) then it will be a close one. HHS has an offense that is hard to stop especially when they get on a roll. But if the defense holds up then we should see Huntington at 4-2.

Not putting the Shermans down AT ALL, but only weapon I keep hearing about is Vanderpool. Huntsmen have a variety of players that can create plays in space. Who knows maybe the Shermans have some secret weapons they don't want to reveal 8) 8) 8)

If your offense is pounding the rock, while winding the clock, then you're likely only going to know one player. Another Sherman scored 3 TD's on the ground against SE and another averages over 8.5 a carry, so while they are very one dimentional, they have other playmakers beyond Vanderpool.

One thing that will help Unioto against the Huntington offense is seeing Westfall run a very similar scheme last week, so it won't blow them away or surprise them at all. Not sure if they can stop them, but they won't be surprised.

I think it will be a fun matchup of very contrasting styles, should be a great game.

I think that's the same case with Huntington. Last week Piketon ran the ball very well and from what I hear Unioto does a very good job of it too. The Huntsmen D shouldn't be surprised this week with a solid running attack.

Huntington-38
Unioto-28

I think the passing game of Huntington might be the key tonight.

Hopefully we don't see any rain, if so, the odds may be in Unioto's favor..

Huntington has quite a few athletes that can all run the ball with authority, the draw they run is a nice mix. So rain making it hard to pass (assuming that's what you mean) shouldn't be too much of a problem. Unioto should be prepared (westfall has a very similar offense) but Huntington has many offensive weapons that can run, pass and catch. Uniotos defense will have their hands full, however I believe huntingtons defense will also have a full plate (hard time stopping the run)

I'm taking Unioto to win, 38-35 on a late FG.

I think both teams will struggle to get stops and that Huntington's quick strike O, could actually hurt their D at a certain point. But it should be a fun game of contrasting styles tonight in Frenchtown.

Final
Huntington-34
Unioto-31

What a crazy game! Best I've seen all year. Uniotos defense can create turnovers like no other and Huntingtons no huddle spread is still rolling.
Best of luck to the Shermans on the rest of your season.

Really good and entertaining game. Wish it turned out a little different, but everyone definitely got their monies worth tonight.

Good luck to the Huntsmen the rest of the way.

Not to take any thing from Unioto, by all means. They played an amazing game.. But those officials were rediculous.. And Huntington had to many turnovers.. This game should have been a blow out.. But like i said, nothing taken from unioto.. so noone take this wrong

Great game...unioto can work the clock just fine, should have won it I'm not sure why they were passing when their run was killing the huntsmen D...again great game congrats HHS and unioto will have more wins to come that's for sure

It was a fun game to watch!

Huntington runs the spread very well with what they've got. The QB played a good game and didn't make too many errors. The receiver for them #8 played well too. Huntington's coach did a nice job with the play calling and time management in the 4th quarter too.
I believe if they had a little more size and a few more athletes they would be a force in the SVC.

Unioto had some unfortunate breaks, the tipped interception in the endzone during the 2nd half really hurt them. I really question the play calling at times. Seems like when they get some momentum they find a way to change personell or strategy. Another thing that hurt the Shermans was they were without the North kid for the whole second half, he has been a big asset to the Unioto defense this season!

All in all it was a great High School football game. And the fish sandwiches were the best i've had all year! :aaaaa121
