So minford was so dominant that they don't go for a 4th and one deep in West territory. Instead settling for a field goal with your first points? Or they didn't feel threatened when West drove the length of the field easily down close to the red zone before penalties backed us up. I hope the rest of minford isn't as arrogant. How dare they think they have to prepare for the same team that totally embarrassed you the year before.

They have a field goal kicker who can put them in from 40+ as we saw at Wellston. When you have a kicker that is money at 25-30 yards get the points.

I dont think anyone from Minford or West expected the game to be a track meet, and it wasnt. 3 pts early is a good start to what potentially ended up being a defensive game.

No doubt. Take the points. The other guy made it sound like minford didn't need to try. The reason you kick it is because your not sure you can get it.

West's kicker can make them from 40-45. I don't understand why coach doesn't try for 3 when it's 4th and 10 from the 15-20. Instead we go for it and don't get close. I'm not sure we have converted a 4th down attempt this year.

Dont get me wrong im as proud of this team starting 6-0 as anyone but i also think any team from 08-11 would handle this team with out much problem. The 11 team might have not won S.O.C that year but that was one of the more talented teams minford has had with the speed of butcher, piguet and the running strength of Slone and gaines. The only clear advantage i think this team would have is at the WR position but i dont think this years team would move the ball on that teams defense that was one of the better linebaker groups ive seen in a while. But on to this game i always thought it was going to be a close game i mean its west but i also think we came out flat yo can get away with that now but not week 8 or 10 but good luck to the senators and to my falcons this week!

Agreed about the wide outs, we just need to utilize a more diverse reciever core. Which I think will come as we head further into league and playoff play. As I mentioned several other falcons can add to a spread look and passing attack when needed, players like Parsons, Joyce, Hall, etc. Parsons is long and athletic and needs time at wide, and Joyce can fly, he reminds me a lot of Hollyrock Fisher who played breifly in the 2007. Wouldn't hurt to get kids like that the ball with about 5 touches or so a game. With all this being said, make no mistake about it, Minford has a great coaching staff and I buy in and support everything they do, I am just talking football here.

West will be right there with them. We will be smaller but will be far from weak we have a outstanding weight program that is second to none. The one linebacker that had the most tackles is just a freshman #58. We have several kids moved up from the jv and are now starting varsity. The freshman team just lost their first game to Burg and the jv is undefeated and has not been scored on, so we will be fine. Was just wandering why Minford cancelled their jv and freshman games this week with West.

To many injuries. The chop blocks took out one of our freshman lineman, so we had to make changes along with the other injuries we have had the past few weeks. No need to take chances with the others getting hurt.

It looked as if at the Minford vs West game there were plenty of kids for Minford that didn't get playing time. To keep building the program JV and Freshman games are importants. Makes no sense to cancel these games.
