You are correct 87, if the committee uses the Perry, Bob Boyton or a Bob Lutz's model we will be in good shape 2-3 years down the road. It will not be easy but not impossible! Most important the new coach has to stand up to the parents and install a strict discipline policy! One trick that Boston Sr. did at Nelsonville York after consoildation, He awarded a varisty Letter to each member of his team for completing the season! What a neat perk for commitment!
Re: Week 6 Logan @ Portsmouth
If they did quit, who the hell could blame them? I'm sure a lot of them read this site. Do you read the posts on here? Most of you have given up on them. It's easy to support the team when they are winning 8, 9, 10 games a year. A real fan will still stand behind the program when they are 0-10. You don't have to approve of some of the decisions being made. You don't have to approve of the moves the program is making. But darn it, these boys need to know more than ever right now that we are STILL behind them no matter what!dazed&confused wrote:And for whatever reason, THIS team quit last Friday.

Yeah because I'm sure on 3rd and 10 on the 40 yard line the players are thinking of what people on here are saying about the team

Hopefully the Trojans can pull the W out and regain some confidence for them. This game could dictate how the rest of the season will go for them.

No. I live 2 and a half hours away and work on Friday nights. I can't attend all the games. But if I can't, my butt is planted in front of the computer listening online.Black Angus wrote:Did You attend the game last Friday?

When I played... you got a varsity letter if you played so many quarters in a season. If you were in for 2 plays in any one quarter it was considered a quarter of varsity play.moonshine wrote:You are correct 87, if the committee uses the Perry, Bob Boyton or a Bob Lutz's model we will be in good shape 2-3 years down the road. Now, if you were junior varsity and didn't play varsity you received a JV Letter. If you were a 4 year varsity player you would receive a varsity letter plus a gold symbol or the year for which you played.
Point being... don't just hand out an award because you stick with it! Whatever happened to just having the sense of accomplishment or the feeling of having stuck to your word and finishing something you started. I don't buy into just giving awards out for something that they should be man enough to finish it through in the first place! Bribing or awarding kids for something they should love to be doing... if they really love to play the game they will stick it out anyway! If not... maybe they should be in the band or choose another sport! No pun intended towards the band members... these kids work very hard as well!

WOW this makes like 5 times we have agreed this year. I must be losing my mind!Crab's brother wrote:Good luck to the Trojans. I know Valley, Minford, and Wheelersburg would love to get their hands on the 5.5 second level points from Logan.

One last post on this. I apologized on Monday for my tone and said I would not post any more on Logan football the rest of this year. Do you need a public square flogging?gochiefs wrote:If they did quit, who the hell could blame them? I'm sure a lot of them read this site. Do you read the posts on here? If Logan has there heads in the game and the coach has the team ready it will be close with Logan coming out on top at the end. This might be the only game which Logan could be favor to win the rest of the year!

I just used your post because it mentioned the team quitting. I wasn't singling out any particular posters.dazed&confused wrote:One last post on this. I apologized on Monday for my tone and said I would not post any more on Logan football the rest of this year. Do you need a public square flogging?
