Big congrats to Coach Estep and the pirates on great win to start the season, against a Very solid D 1 school like Lakota East. Nice overall team effort good pitching(Moore 5, W, Martin 2, S). Also really good defense and some solid hitting as well. Dylan Miller steps in an does a nice job behind the plate. Hard to replace a player the caliber of Austin Hall but he stepped in with a great effort. The road just keeps getting tougher but keep working hard and DWWD and good things will happen . Good Luck against Desales and Go Burg.

It's too bad the local schools couldn't have played DeSales last year, Piketon beat them 8-0 last night and Burg is up 5-0 early tonight.

But, it's still nice to see local teams beat up on a 2 time defending State Champ!

I just got home from the Webster game and the Pirates were in control from the very start. They scored 10 in the 1st inning and it was 13-0 after 2. I left right after that. The pitching look good and they were all hitting the ball very well. Martin hit a 3 run shot to left center field in the 1st.

I think people follow the posts, but it is just hard to keep up with 3-4 games a week compared to football where you have all week to build up to a game.

IMHO looking at the first 11 games and the opponents, if you would have said Burg would be 10-1 through 11 games before the season started I think everyone would take that. They've played really good competition and almost half way through the conference. This week will be more good teams in the GC tournament. Pitching and defense have been outstanding, Derek(5-0 , 1s), Wade (2-0, 1 S), have been pitching excellent. Add Zach Brown(1-0) and Zach Russell(2-0) they have been doing well as the 3 & 4. Offensively the bats haven't all came together yet but it seems like 2 or 3 players every game steps up. 4 HR's is already better than last year ,with Wade,Garrett,Derek, and a Nathan Jones pinch hit grand slam, each having one. But we know this team doesn't win with their power. Hopefully the pitching and defense stay sharp and the team can put together another streak of wins. Go Burg
