Russo and Callie you guys are reading way more into this than whats there. Tonights loss just like last week has nothing to do with declining population or drugs. They lost because of two things lack of physicality and a lack of tackling. This Ironton team despite having some big guys on the line is weak and not very aggressive. The amount of arm tackling out there was ridiculous. No one wants to stick anybody they want to play patty cake with the other team, but when the other team wants to play smash mouth football you get killed like last night. Ironton needs to have a serious heart session maybe spend an hour or so after practice watching old highlight films to get that spark back into their heart cause that Tiger spirit isnt there right now. They need to play more physical and get back to hitting people.

tigercannon alot of what you are saying , i completely agree with. but i'm not ready to cue up chicken little either. the sky ain't falling at ironton just yet. they played a very physical first half, and had their chances in the first half.in reality , it is little more than lack of execution. i think anybody that knows the history of ohssa football knows that columbus bishop watterson is a buzzsaw. the just won the state in d3 in 2010. but the depth or lack of really showed last night for the fighting tigers.i still don't understand why we are not blitzing more , or doing stunts, to try to stop the run. but aside from arm tackling and olinemen downfield but not blocking, i'm proud of their effort.the eagles were very quick, and we could not hit the corners, they were extremely disciplined.and they were just pouring into our backfield.i agree with watching some highlight tapes. and we all knew this would be a big transition coaching. i really don't think play calling has been an issue as much as execution, and playing an extreme schedule.trust me , we get by this week, win or lose. if the fighting tigers have a checkup from the neckup. this will pay dividends.

callie & russo, this team might be a little soft in places, but MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS TEAM WILL BE BACK ON TRACK. maybe not this year, but they will bounce back you can bet on that.

For Ironton to play this type of schedule they will need to do a better job at getting more kids out to play. To provide better depth when players get hurt. As well as not wearing out your players playing all the time against big teams who rotate players.

The comments about the poor tackling was also said the last few years. Seems like in some games the players just do not want to hit and wrap up for whatever reason. That also goes on at other schools. Wrap up and finish the tackle. Which does not take that much more effort to do when you are already in position. The ones who will finish a tackle are football players and those who do not are just players on the team. Ironton needs to figure out what the have on their team if they want to win again this year.
