Tough injury for anyone. Hoping for a speedy and uneventful recovery. Only issue with officiating was the "concession interference" official spent a lot of the first half drawing attention to himself. A well called game should end without officials receiving a lot of attention. If you want attention join the drama club not officiate.

I didn't understand that either. I was even more confused when the spectators started cheering when he did that.
What are you referring to...........the fans were cheering? I assure you that the Pirate fans were not cheering because of the injury. We lost a player early in the season. We were cheering for the effort our team was giving. That night our kids played probably their best game of the year. The Pirate fans hurt also because of the injury and are praying for Mr. Dials a speedy recovery.. I thought the Wheelerburg fans and team handled the incident very sportsmanlike, staying until the young man was removed from the field and into the ambulance. Most West fans were gone by then.

I meant when the official forced the spectator to move from the fence.

Most of the West fans actually moved to the field to stand around him though. That's why they weren't in the bleachers.

Thanks for clearing that up! I have distant relatives on the West team and have always wished them well. We are praying for a speedy recovery!

The game was getting pretty rough at the end. If the refs would have gained better control the injury may not have happened. The Dials boy got punched by a burg player right in front of the ref just before the injury and he did nothing. This got the boy really upset and he went harder than normal. That is a fact. Trust me. The play was clean but had he not been so mad at the time it may have been different. I know the Dalton boy is pretty upset over it from what I heard from some pirate fans.

The Wheelersburg kids have worked their butts off all year, struggling with injuries and lack of good officiating. We have all seen it everywhere you go, there is to much being allowed to go on and eventually someone gets hurt. I know that Mark is very upset over what happened as well as all of the Pirate team and fans. No one wants to see anyone carted off to an ambulance. Our prayers are with the Dials family!
