Re: Coaches Openings
Maybe I'm old school but I really don't like the trend of AAU coaches coaching high school. Back in the day ALL my coaches were teachers and we were highly successful in all sports. We looked up to the teachers/coaches and respected them. They chose to be professional educators and coach. Anyone can be an AAU and AAU and high school are two totally different things! I think if you want to coach high school you should be a teacher! IMO

Re: Coaches Openings
I understand where you're coming from, but this just does not match up with the reality of our schools in this age. Schools would like coaches to also be teachers, but there are often times where there aren't openings - or there aren't openings in what the coach is qualified to teach.Carl Spackler wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2017 2:23 pm Maybe I'm old school but I really don't like the trend of AAU coaches coaching high school. Former boys coach Matt Zumbro takes over the girls at Morgan, replacing Tim Bowman.
Zumbro led the Morgan boys to the school's only Sweet 16 appearance in the early 2000s.
