Week 8:Chesapeake @ South Point

Post by robycop3 »

Is South Point improving, or is Rock Hill that far down this year? Is Peake looking past the Pointers to Coal Grove a week later? Does South point realistically have any chance to win? While all signs look like a blowout win for the Panthers is coming, the game will be played on the field, not on paper.
Thoughts, everyone?

Rock Hill is far worse than I've ever seen them and they might be worse than any OVC team has been since I've been following the conference. South Point is dreadful too, but might actually make it out of this season with two wins. Their second win won't come against the Panthers, though. Chesapeake was completely written off this year because of their youth. Their non-conference schedule was brutal; the teams they played currently have a combined record of 27-7 (Portsmouth West is responsible for 5 of those losses). They beat a Symmes Valley team that will probably make the playoffs and are coming off an upset of Fairland. This team is always well-coached and they play their best football down the stretch. They will not overlook South Point. I don't know if they can hang with Coal Grove in 2 weeks, but I remember how big of underdogs they were 2 years ago against the Hornets and stunned them to take the OVC.

After playing most ovc teams, Rock hill is that bad. South point has no chance here in this game. Chesapeake is still a solid team regardless of record. Doesn't matter if peake overlooks south point or not. This game will still be a blowout.

chesapeake is not a young team. they have 11 seniors . and i wouldn't call it a upset over fairland.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that if Peake wins out and gets a little help, they could sneak in to the playoffs in a terrible Region 15. I believe Zane Trace and Harrison Central will both lose this week, so if Symmes Valley could win out (Easier said than done) it is possible for the Panthers.

I don't believe Coach Andy will let Peake overlook anyone, what with 4 losses already.

Don't let your guard this week peake. SP has some speed and they match up pretty well. I am looking forward to CG vs Peake title game once again this year.
