I witnessed a very touching moment before the start of the game at Sciotoville between Symmes Valley and East and just had to post about it.
Very early in the school year a Junior at Symmes Valley and his younger Jr High aged brother had a very serious car accident on their way to school on state route 141. The younger brother suffered a badly broken leg and spent a few nights in the hospital and was released. The Junior was driving and suffered very severe head trauma in the accident. He was life flighted to the hospital where is in very serious condition for a very long time. There were many prayers and fund raisers out in Symmes Valley land for this young man, his little brother and the entire family over the last several weeks.
The young man was finally released from the hospital in the middle of last week. He was not on the football team or anything, but just a classmate of these young men. Before the game on Friday one of the boys on the Symmes Valley team noticed this young man and his family arrive in the parking lot arriving for the game. One of the Symmes Valley players asked head coach Rusty Webb if the team could greet this young man when he got to the field. Coach Webb siad of course they could and to go right ahead. The entire team went to the front gate at the stadium in uniform, who had already started preparation for the game and stood and waited for this young man to come through the gate. The team stood and cheered for him as he came in the gate. Many tears and high emotions at this point. This should make you proud of being a Viking and to be part of this loving and caring community! Very nice gesture young men!

Very nice gesture. Coach Webb is a class act and I am sure that his players feed off of that.

Thanks for sharing Riverball. I love these types of stories and I think that these are some of the best types of posts on here. Really nice touch from these great young men. It shows that they are being brought up the right way out in the country.
