I guess the score of 1st qt vs MTA vs FF was 12-12...After 4 Fort Frye 50 Marietta 37...In this matchup the Tigers game plan was to hold down Smith.Soph Seth Legrean was leading scorer in this match up using his speed over Riley.Marietta had a few good players Wood,Satterfield, and Benson.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions
If memory serves me right the point for John Glenn should be freshman Drew Rackley, he is a player.
Caldwell vs. Belpre scrimmage this morning was about as even as it could get. Belpre is physical and well coached despite not having Ullman. Their big kids play strong. Believe the 6 quarters played were split and each quarter was within a basket or so either way. The officials did not show up so it was pretty physical and chippy. It was great for our young guys to have to deal with a really physical game situation. Apologies to the Belpre team for the officials not showing up today. Best of luck to the Eagles and coaches Thornhill and Engle this winter.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions
I was there too. I know we need to get tougher like coach said but that was a little out of hand. Belpre kids were holding jerseys, pushing kids out of bounds on the side line with the ball and basically tackling our guys on every drive to the hoop. I think in 6 quarters there were maybe 6 fouls called. My feelings were that if everything were called it probably wouldn't have been all that close. I know it was just a scrimmage but it was almost over the line. Coach said our A.D. scheduled officials and they just didn't show up. They shouldn't be asked back either. As for the little basketball that happened during that basketbrawl, Caldwell won 4 quarters and Belpre won 2. All of the quarters were really close.

They had one kid who could shoot if you left him open. The point guard was a good defender but he probably would have fouled out 5 times in 6 quarters if there had been officials there. They were really aggressive, could see foul trouble being a huge issue for them. They didn't appear to be very deep.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference-Early thoughts and predictions
I think that Fort will win this one if they shoot the ball well. I think there are match up problems for both sides, Belpre is strong in the paint. If Belpre were going to win I think it would be in a tight game. I think Fort has the potential to win comfortably if they shoot it well and rebound the ball. If the game is officiated tightly Belpre might be in trouble, they play really aggressive and really physical, almost dirty at times.

That would really surprise me, Trail should be good and Waterford was in the Caldwell shoot out this summer and they were just bad.
Caldwell scrimmages tonight @ New Lex @ 6......not sure if all of our players will play. One has an eye infection and one has an injured knee but I was told it wasn't to serious. Gotta keep them healthy.
