How did the evening games turn out? Was the Logan Elm/Vinton game any good?

Bloom Carroll beat Huntington 75-41. I thought Bloom was the best team on the evening. Issac McGlone is fantastic.

Eastern beat Westfall 60-40. Eastern was incredibly balanced with Lawson leading the way. Once the Warriors get out in transition, they are really fun to watch.

Didn't get down early enough to see Carroll, but its guard play is going to be pretty good with McGlone, Schmitz and working in a couple of other kids. The question, against bigger teams, is losing Ireland to graduation. He was a big contributor last season.

Look forward to seeing them in MSL-Buckeye play.

Not great matchups this year with only 2 games being within 10 points, but still nothing beats seeing a bunch of local teams battling it out!

North Adams dominated the 2nd half against Greenfield and won by a dozen or so.

Anxious to read Pfloyd's evaluation of Valley's opening night win, just 2 weeks removed from football season. I realize everyone has Minford pegged as the pick to win the SOC 2, but I whole-heartidly believe Valley is good enough to repeat as league champs. The Indians are possibly the only other team in the SOC 2 that can match the Falcons blend of size, speed, athleticism, defense, ball-handlers, shooters and depth. The Falcons do bring more experience to the floor though. It should be a fun season!

It seemed like they had 20 kids score! Just kept bringing athletic and talented guys in. They just didnt stop coming, they are going to be a tough team to beat again this year.

That depth is going to be HUGE for the Indians as they transition from football into "basketball shape". All 12 kids on this team played football, and the strength & conditioning at Valley has been outstanding. That turnover number is absolutely awful, but hopefully it is one area that will dramatically improve as the team progresses. Just as last year's Bball version of the Indians got better by leaps and bounds every time they stepped on the floor in the month of December, this year's squad will hopefully do the same. Overall, a 27-point win with all 12 kids contributing in game one, 14 days after closing football season is a huge positive in my book.
