I don't know that Bradshaw would be in my top 10. I always thought much of his success was the result of the team and not the other way around. Kinda like a Dan Fouts i guess. Yes he had an arm and football i.q. but could he have succeeded without the acrobatic and speedy wr's? I guess i just wonder if he had the skill set to take a team on his back when the talent maybe wasn't as good. Could he have made things happen if needed? Maybe its just that i'm spoiled by the gun slingers of the last decade and i've forgot what it was like watching football in the 70's and early 80's before linebackers had the speed to run sideline to sideline. Who in heavens name cares?! What does it matter? It's just a game
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
the other Manning could go in here too after a few more years
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
Jim Trotter said this about Joe Montana---"He had a game that was as cool as his blue eyes. Playing a position at which greatness is often defined by victories, it's no surprise he was 4 and 0 in Super Bowls."
Joe had 3 Super Bowl MVP====39 300 yard games

I love when He-who-is-Holier-Than-All uses Heaven's name in vain. Blasphemy is very becoming on you, old man.

Peter King on Johnny Unitas--"He was the smartest play-caller of his day [and likely any day], the definition of an on-field commander. he led the Cols down the field to tie the 1958 NFL title game in the final minute and again to win it in overtime."
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
Don Banks had this to say about Tom Brady---"The biggest steal in NFL draft history, the sixth round pick out of Michigan single- handedly changed the fortunes of the New England franchise as he won three Super Bowls rings in his first four season as a starter."
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
He's the greatest winner among QBs ever, and that cannot be disputed: seven Championships in 10 professional seasons-- and he lost in the championship game the other three years.
Peter King on Otto Graham
nine time All-Pro--- 6 TDs in 1954 NFL Title game

Damon Hack said---"If you were to build a QB in a laboratory, there's no doubt you'd get Peyton Manning--a gifted, motivated, masterly thrower."
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
Jim trotter taking about John Elway---His greatness was not validated by Super Bowl wins in his final two seasons. It was validated by his taking talent-deficient Broncos teams to three Super Bowls before he ever won a title.
Elway had 47 4th quarter game winning or game tying drives. He retired 2nd all time in passing yards and completions.

The most prolific passer in league history, only the lack of a Super Bowl title mars Marino's record-setting 17-year career in Miami.

The best all-around player ever. In 1943 Sammy Baugh led the league in punting and completion percentage and was second with 23 touchdown passes in 10 games. Plus, as a safety he led the league with 11 INT.

Mark Mravic on Brett Favre---No QB had a greater flair for dramatic . His supreme self-confidence led to impossible completions and ,occasionally, monumental mistakes. case in point: He's the NFL's all time leader in both career interceptions and touchdowns.
Re: Top Ten Qb all-time--Lets chat about it
His stats aren't great [he threw nearly as many INTs as TDs] but his longballs to Lynn Swann and John Stallworth were the difference in three of his four Super Bowl victories , and his .667 winning percentage is third all-time among retired QBs in the postwar era.
