Teams have tried a similar strategy NY BUCKS - and have failed ..... but they're not Nelsonville-York either.

Should be an awesome night - I can't wait to see who's game plan works and doesn't work ... its like a 'game within the game' when these two teams meet up.

BTW ... I'M WORKING ON AN AWESOME PREVIEW - IT SHOULD BE DONE EARLY TOMORROW MORNING ... WAY BETTER THAN THE ONE I DID LAST YEAR!

If I go with my head, Athens. If I go with my heart, NY. To say it is a toss up, well, that would be a complete cop out.

I'm going to be logical here, and go with the home team. That being said, this will be the closest game for the Bulldogs since week one, unless they play lights out, then, well, all bets are off. Moderator, may I add one more cliche' to this post?

Steely really hopes that this is a game for the ages, the boys play hard, and no one gets hurt. I'd love to see both teams playing the following week, in all honesty. Good luck to both squads!

I feel we need to control the line of scrimmage on both sides athens offense is very potent but especially when there able to have the threat of running & throw the football if we can shut down the Athens running game make them one dimensional & get after Burrow who hasn't been pressured all year long it will tip the scales in our favor & we all know NY wants to run it at will when they can & that takes creating a push up front so their are my keys to victory IMO it is line play & obviously in big football games turnovers & penalties will be a factor as well let's go get Revenge Bucks !!!

If NY defense can get to burrow you have a chance, if they dont, and he has time he will pick you're secondary apart folks, this kid plays like a senior with years under his belt, has poise, smartness, and sharp crisp balls and receivers that are tall, fast and can catch! If you havent seen him yet, your bout to find out if he has time to throw how good he is. Then you get spanked,So good luck gettn him rattled but 1st your bucks defense gotta get to him.

I predict an Athens victory by 7 points and coal grove slips into the playoffs.
Take a look at the possible points on Joe Eitel. It will take quite a bit for CG to get in. First Frederictown must lose to Loudenville, which is no guarantee. NY still may have enough point to get in losing especially if Logan beats Warren. It is probably going to be the Freddie's or Buckeyes.

Good luck to the buckeyes, hope you get the victory!!!

I believe Athens has beaten one team with a winning record Jackson at 5-4. That score was 21-14. So you really can't look into that. Athens and NY play who is put in front of them. Neither team can help it that the other league teams didn't win games and that the non league games that each team won those teams haven't won either.

This will be by far the best game of the year for both teams!!! I take my BUCKEYES in a hard fought close game, I see no blow outs here for either team it comes down to turn overs and penalties.

Athens has far exceeded my expectations this season and has turned out to be much better than most thought they were capable of while N-Y has shook off a slow start and rallied to be a very good football team showing their heart and desire all season and now on paper this game appears to be another coin flip and with the last three contests being decided by a total of 5 points would you really want or expect much less come Friday night? I gotta go with my Bulldogs to win but N-Y will without doubt be a huge challenge.

Gallia ran the ball well against Athens. If Nelsonville can do the same then its a close game. Someone stated earlier Nelsonvlle as beat no one with a win and Athens only one so that's why these teams are 8-1, 9-0 each year but that's for playing in the TVC worst league in the State. Home field will be big. Nelsonville may not make the playoffs and Athens will at best be a 4 seed compared to last years 2 seed and could drop anywhere for 6-8 with a lose and go on the road to finally play the big boys. Someone also mentoned early Grant and Joey which both had and has dads coaching at OU, this is why Athens will always control the TVC in all sports transfers. Both teams have big things on the line, Nelsonville needing a win to make the playoffs and Athens needing a win so that don't drop and go on the road. Good luch to both and hopefully injury free. I'm not sure how the exceeded your expectations they play in the TVC they should always be 9-1 or 10-0.

The Bucks keep on rolling in this one. With all the weapons on the field, which if they had them all year they would be 9-0 right now, the puppies will not be able to stop them. It may be close, but NY out athletes and out coaches the puppies. Here little puppy...

Greatone......Athens had to replace their starting QB, the apparent next starting QB in Germano who moved out (that OU coaching thing works both ways you know), starting TE, starting WR, starting RB, last years backup RB who is still on the team but was lost to injury before the season started, two starting linemen, starting CB, starting S, two starting linebackers (one who was all everything in Rider), and I'm sure I probably missed someone. Not to mention a new offensive coordinator with a totally new philosophy. There were tons of questions about this team going into the season, it isn't as easy as plug in the next kid and keep trucking along. On your TVC comment, I don't consider the Ohio and Hocking divisions as being the same league so I think the comment about the league we play in being the worst in Ohio is drastically overstated.

Athens (The Plains, OH) at Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH), 7:30pm [projection: Athens (The Plains, OH) 38-31]

Çalpreps has no clue. Cal has no idea of the hornets nest that was kicked by the outcome of he game last year. Bucks had to hear all year how they gave away a perfect season, and the TVC. We'll see what Cal says after the steam roller finishes beating the puppies. Here little puppy...

The TVC is the worst league in the State Ohio and Hocking, period. However it doesn't matter to the kids when the banner is hanging in the gym. Your correct transfers go both ways but Athens will always have another to step in. Face it when a coach or employee move into OU working staff they are going to live in Athens, not Vinton County, Wellston and such it just makes sense which is a good an advantage for Athens that they should be happy to use. if they were still in the SEOAL they would be in second place now.
