I believe the PDT showed Burg with 189 total yards and obviously only the 1 TD. The Pirates passing attack was held to 69 yards and they had zero 100 yard runners. Considering that offense had put up over 300 yards on every opponent they've played this year leading up to the game, including numerous 400+ yard games, that's a helluva accomplishment by the Indians TEAM defense!!! Heck, the Pirates got roughly half of their yards on their 2nd possession of the game, and even that ended with the Indians Defense making a goal-line stand at the 1 after the Pirates had 1st & Goal from the 3!!!!!

Come on SEOPS Staff, lets give kudos to those that do the blue-collar work this week!?!? Offensive stats are a lot of fun, but defense wins championships and that's exactly what it did last night in Lucasville!!! And, that's not to mention the FACT that nobody gave this group a chance to repeat as champs of one of the top 2 or 3 leagues this site covers!!!

I vote for Bryce Romanello. What a kick by a Freshman in the biggest game of the year for the win win time running out!!

I'm with Jesco....Give it to the whole Valley defense. So far the other two nominees have ran up stats against a 1-8 team and an 0-9 team, respectively.

If you are going to pick just one, then flip a coin between JJ Hettinger (DT-Valley) who shut down the Wheelersburg running game between the tackles or Will Howard (QB/CB-Valley) who made play after play late in the game.

yeah i think if you cant give it to a whole defense my vote would be for hettinger they guy really impressed me with his stamina to be so big playing both ways the guy just kept going and was a force on the line burg had no answer for him i dont know his stats but they would not tell the whole truth
