lots of neighborhood tail-gate parties but the Knights Of Columbus is very popular......lots of Ironton fans eat and have a cocktail there and it is a good atmosphere...........Ohio University has a big parking lot next to the Tank and you are more than welcome to set up a tail-gate there........just keep the brewski in a RED SOLO cup.......... :)

and you can always have a good pregame at BDubs.........

and another reminder,,,,,,,,the State fellas dont like the rolling stops in Ironton........

Have a safe trip and we will see u Friday..........

TTT...Thanks for the info...I will be traveling with my good friends in their RV....So I think we are going to set up at OU parking lot...we will be the ones with the BC Flag flying...you are welcome to come over and say hello...i will have a RED SOLO cup waiting for you....
Looking forward to returning to I-town for this game...I am from a little town about 9 miles west of I-town....so it will be nice to "come home" for a game.
Thanks for the heads up on the State boys.... When you get to the RV just ask for BREW....

See you Friday

Tigercannon71.....Bloom Carroll played Hamilton Twp last friday in a Driving Rain....the whole game. I think we had 2 fumbles lost...Sometimes you could barely see the other stands it was raining so hard. It stopped for about 20 mins....at Halftime while i was in my truck...LOL. The field was not sloppy though...HT has Turf.,..but was still WET...
Good luck to Both teams Friday.

Thanks Brew. With the weather forecast looking good for the end of the week Id say the game will be played in some good cold football weather. This year I think the Tigers have done a great job protecting the football. Last year we'd have 4 fumbles a game this year we have taken care of the football.

wow, every team the fighting tigers played had winning records other than portsmouth.
that was an amazing schedule this year.
Leaving out Portsmouth's non-winning record they played 8 other teams.
They lost to 3 of them...
3 of them were typically weak KY teams...but those teams do win in weak KY.
They BARELY beat the 2 remaining teams by a grand total of 6 points but got tons of computer points from them.
It wasn't the "tough" schedule that got them in, it was the good "normal" teams that they usually play.... like Gallia, Wheelersburg and Ashland. Watterson and Hartley didn't do much for them but break a few bones IMO.

For the BC fans heading south to the Tank Friday, the first forecast calls for a game time temp of 48 and a 20% chance of rain...

The church across the street from the Tank maintains a parking lot for a fee of 2.00 and there is plenty of off-street parking around the stadium.

Eating establishments : Mellini's.......Toro Loco.........Peddlers........End Zone.........and the K of C (KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS) has a great steak and fish meal on Friday nite.........if u want a cold one and some great wings we also have a Buffalo Wild Wings here................ Across the river in Ashland, Ky you will find the name restaurants, Applebees.....OCharleys......Outback and Cheddars..........

A word of advice if u are traveling Route 23 and 52 east out of Portsmouth........Hanging Rock is a speed trap.....big time speed trap.......55MPH and u are safe.......again I will say.......SPEED TRAP.......NO MERCY..........

You will find the Tank and Tiger fans to be friendly and hospitable.......and remember the game Officials are assigned by the Ohio High School Athletic Association....

Have a safe trip and remember .............55MPH thru the ROCK.............

I look for this to be a good game....Ironton's most impressive victories came with a different QB...I don't put a lot of stock on the OH game when it comes to playoffs. Meanwhile BC went to a 7-2 Div II HT of the MSL and came away with a win.....could be a good one....I pick a tight game with the winner by no more than 8, leaning toward the Tigers.

I am open to correction, but yes I think that this is the first meeting in varsity football.
