He didn't against Valley because the coaches didn't call the correct pass plays. Instead of throwing the short passes that eat up yardage and get 1st downs they tried to throw the bomb on almost every attempt until the last minute of the 4th quarter when they took it right down the field on short passes. If they continue to run the offense they have ran all year I think they will be fine in this game and will win by a couple of scores. Why would Eddie throw all over them? Heck he didn't against Valley.
All I'm saying is based upon the last two.weeks performances, I'm not so sure Burg is gelling at this moment! Best bring the "A" game you brought for 8 weeks! Cause I know I'm not the only one who's sick of watching a team with this potential call stupid plays!

Of course he can only run the plays being called Yabba! Note the fact I said about stupid plays being called? Meaning..... he can't throw all day against a team if the coaches are calling running plays! I'm only arguing with the stupidity in which ppl say he can throw all day! Seriously? Did they watch the last two games?Neutron Man wrote: Cause I know I'm not the only one who's sick of watching a team with this potential call stupid plays!
And yes 4x4 or 6x10 whoever you are most ppl do!

We need to start getting the state level. With 5 teams in I think we have a good as shot as ever, but until we can't start beating the bad guys "up north" we will be good, but not great.Stu Pedasso wrote:SOC2 is a Beastly conference, 3 teams playing week 11, IMHO Pirates sail on to week 12

LU has a defensive lineman 6'1 280lb looks to be quick & has good foot speed

Both the Millers and Claxson are really good skill players. But I think teams have figured out how to defense Wheelersburg, or at least contain them. West's defense is extremely young, and had a couple experienced guys out friday. A defense that struggled to stop teams all year basically shut Wheelersburg down the first half minus one drive. An older, more experienced defense could really cause them problems.Neutron Man wrote:Of course he can only run the plays being called Yabba! Note the fact I said about stupid plays being called? Totally different game that was! B. Shank was the Soph QB. He replaced Lang after first game vs Ironton and we were a running team. We had Stegman who was a 6'6" receiver but I dont think Brandon at that time could get his whole hand around the football! LOL. That was a hard fought game that LU made the adjustment in the 2nd half and ran their big QB behind the right side of their big Oline and chewed it out. They are not nearly as big but they have a speedy lil back in #20 and a very good defense that are quick to the ball. They have faced spread teams.Endzone_Warrior wrote:Without a doubt he will, Like stated before, I would also love to see Eddie throwing some more short passes/screens. That will open up the deep ball as wellMad_Dogg wrote:eddie will throw all over them of they do thatBurg_Grad_77 wrote:The last time the Burg played this team they put 8 and 9 men in the box and dared the Pirates to throw the ball. I hope they try that again this time.
.
Burg needs to continue showing multiple sets with motion and let the offense see what the defense will give us. We did not do that with Valley but we did do it well vs West but for a few mishaps, that game was in hand all night. Our Oline must do a good job as always, keeping the defense off Eddie so he can get the ball to the receivers. This passing game, especially if successful in medium range, will back off the LBs and open up the running game. I would add some more trick plays to our game if we get momentum to keep them completely off gaurd.
This LU team has had the same Coach for many years. He is a great coach! He has a disciplined defense and a ground pounding offense. I would like to see burg get a bigger Dline in quicly if they get chunks of yardage early, I like a small Dline myself, IF, they can slip the gaps and get in the backfield Quick, like when the Peach Pie was so predominate. But we DONT have that. We have a GOOD dline but this is the playoffs. The teams are normally bigger and faster. So we need to adjust.

I am sure LU is a good team, but Burg needs to come out and play their normal fast paced passing game. Burg has played very well at home and the weather forecast looks like it will be a good evening for football on Saturday. As mentioned before, throwing in a few wrinkles into the offense is a good thing, but don't change what has gotten you here.

Re: #7 Liberty Union Lions (8-2) @ #3 Wheelersburg Pirates(8
Drew Pasteur has it predicted as Wheelersburg (8-2) by 9 (72%) vs Liberty Union (Baltimore) (8-2). It looks like the forecast is leaning more toward the chance of rain as the week goes along. Obviously, the weather will be more of a factor for Burg's passing game, but being on turf helps reduce the impact.
