[quote="Keyser_soze78"]After an evening of an interesting email, a phone call and a few text messages, I can say this:

The idea of moving the game to Jackson is indeed — and rather rapidly — gaining ground.

However, that does NOT mean it ultimately gets moved.

Gaining ground with whom?

It is probably being pushed by the AD of McNicholas.

after having looked at field this morning, it is my guess that if weather forecast has not changed. that the game will not be moved. The field looks much better then monday or tuesday either one i did not see it yesterday. I also think the field in the shape it is in would be more of a burden on power then speed. If it is moved it will be for safety only not because someone didn't like it. This is purely a guess. But my opinion is that if yesterday there was a 50% chance of it being moved, that this morning it is down to about 40%.

I am not sure that RVHS would be big enough, I am not sure who many the stadium would have to seat to hold a Division III playoff game.

Chexked the field at 3 p.m., and Chickamauga Creek was still within its banks. Blue Devils practiced on Memorial Field's practice surface this afternoon following school.

Hoping for a Blue Devil win and a representation of SEOAL football, but if not the question remains can a SEOAL (and if so when) team make it out of the Region? It seems like we don't make it past the first round. Last year Jackson got to second round but beat a former SEOAL team in Athens that is now TVC. Jackson didn't play well against Alder but nonetheless the perception is we (SEOAL/TVC) can get into top 8 but can never advance.

Only southeast ohio teams that have had success are Burg, Ironton, and to some extent Valley.

Is that always how it will be? Will the new 7 divisions help or hurt that scenario?

GAHS has twice played into Week 13. Logan has done the same, so has Chillicothe, so has Portsmouth. Jackson has been to Week 12 quite a few times.

To get to Week 14, you have to win Week 11. We'll hope to start there, then worry about the rest.

Bottom line, there are good teams all throughout the state. Anyone that makes it out of regionals should be considered fortunate.

We'll worry about seven divisions next year.

Good luck Blue Devils. The SEOAL is pulling for you.
