I LOVED it ... but I HATED it ... lol

Gallia Academy (a.k.a. Memorial Stadium) still has the same 'feel' to it ... it's a lot like the Hilltop with the surrounding houses ... but it too is about to be a part of history and will no longer host games ... :(
You'll never replace the Hilltop.

Ever. You'll see my love letter to it when the new LoganFootball.com is online, LOL.

However, when it comes to MOJO or SWAGGER - we should remember that Logan started 12-0 in the new place including the first win over Lancaster since 1957, a win over a REALLY good Pickerington North team, two wins over Zanesville, a win over Ironton, and the first TWO home playoff wins ever.

Don't think the new place lacked swagger in '08 or '09. Logan Chieftain Stadium lost its swagger when the purple and white lost theirs.

I think the Logan Daily News will have some info on the coaching staff in the next few weeks. I think there will be at least 1 new face (McCurdy), 1 returning face (Harris), and several returners to the staff. I'm not sure all the decisions have been finalized yet.

The season opener has to be one of the most anticipated games in recent Logan football. There's a lot riding on the change of direction. If Logan continues to languish under the new coach, it may be a long time before it returns to relevance. We have to give him time to establish his record but if the Chiefs don't rebound in the next few years, there will be a lot of questions.

Game one of Logan Football 2013 is only 14 weeks away. Lets hope our young men are working hard and this summer concentrate on football only! No time for vacation! Our team must be in top physical shape.

We can hope that he is able to do this, but no one can predict how he will do as the head coach.
I amvsure he will be able to accomplish alot at Logan with the community's support and PATIENCE.

There is a big problem in Logan (and elsewhere) with people falling off tue band wagon when things aren't going well. All the chest thumpers hide when times get lean. That has to change.
Talent is starting to come back into an upswing but the youth football program needs an overhaul in order for success to continue once the program gets back on track.
All levels need to be on the same page offensively and defensively so the kids know the system when they get to high school.

Logan's never had a system from youth level up to Varsity. At best there has been cohesion from the 7th grade on, but the Tomahawks have always been run separately from the Varsity program.

Will be interesting to see if the new regime changes that approach.

The basic football system like proper tackling getting into the proper stance and fundamentals and terminology must be the same, a little more simple for the young kids, BUT the same! One other thing in the younger grades everyone needs to play!

It will be interesting to see how coach approaches the tomahawk/flag rec programs. Well could only hope he will embrace the tomahawk program. That is only going to help he and his staff in the future. The earlier you can get a player to do the basics the less you have to try and re-train. It starts to become second nature by the time the player start the reach the hs levels. 1 voice, 1 direction, 1 mission.

Hopefully the tomahawks will get on board the our new head coaches system. I would like to see the younger kids play soccer to develop all the kids kicking ability and overall speed! Then around the 6th grade level introduce them to Football using the basic concepts of the varsity program!
