Thoughts on site for Ironton vs. Johnstown-Monroe

Post by readn,writn,&rt243 »

Just trying to guess where this one will be played. I am betting it is closer to J-M because the OHSAA knows the Tiger faithful will travel.

Should be Jackson but who knows Ironton never had a great crowd tonight and everyone knows Southeastern ohio teams have to travel futher than the other team no matter the seeding

I dunno about that....Tank looked kinda sparse tonite. 2000 maybe.......lotta empty seats on the home side! A far cry from what I'm used to. :?

I'd be surprised if this game is anywhere other than last year's venue.

Remember, the field has to be turf now. That takes Lancaster out. Nelsonville or Athens makes sense depending on where they play the Newark Catholic vs Trimble game. I can see Logan as a possible site for that game. Athens may not want to host if they win tomorrow also. Another option would be closer to Columbus like Hamilton Township.

That be a great place for it. I totally forgot they put turf in. I think Logan gets the Johnstown-Ironton game for sure. Another good question is where will St. Clairesville and Piketon play? That could be Logan, NY, or Athens also.

I am guessing N.C will be playing at Zanesville. They seem to get that location a lot.

I don't see them sending a team from Glouster and a team from Newark to Zanesville ... I am 90% sure the game is gonna be played at Sheridan.

Ironton and area teams could play at some closer fields if teams in the area would host games. Schools need to have turf, parking and a lot of help from the community.

Let’s list some if I leave out someone out please post them:

Portsmouth - Great downtown area - Work out parking
Wheelersburg - Will need to work out parking issue
Valley - Has everything you need
South Point - Will need to work out parking issue
Coal Grove - Will need to work out parking issue
Rock Hill - Will need to work out parking issue
Waverly - If they put turf down next year
Ironton - If they put turf down next year
Portsmouth West - If they put turf down next year

PS Keep in mind any school can over come parking issues if they want to host a playoff game - It takes the community and help!!!!

Having been to playoff games at Athens, Nelsonville and Logan... as a fan I'd prefer Logan. All three are nice venues to watch the actual game, but Logan is much easier w/ parking & walking to the stadium.

Logan is Division II school ... they should have the bigger and best stadium in our area - and they do ... you are definitly right ACCBiggz - the Logan stadium is suited for playoff games.

Athens just built theirs - they are in the process of making the entire complex (and parking) a top notch place to play football games ... should be completed before next fall.

93 bulldog. on the trimble game you have insight on sheridan or is that a guess.
Why not New Lex. would be smack dab in the middle of the 2. Sheridan or Logan be great choices to.
