The list of potential round 2 host sites from the OHSAA indicates that Ironton/Johnstown will be at Logan; Newark Catholic/Trimble will be at Sheridan; and Nelsonville-York will host the St. Clairsville/Piketon game. Region 12 lower bracket would go to Hamilton Twp. Final sites will be announced by 3 PM Sunday.

Shouldn't Logan be disqualified as a "conflict of interest" due to all the hateful things they've said about Ironton - they can't even spell our team name correctly!! I don't want Logan to make a single dime off an Ironton game - they'll do nothing but insult and belittle our team and fans!

Logan sounds about right for the Ironton/Johnstown-Monroe game considering it's twice the driving distance for Ironton.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO BE AT LUCASVILLE VALLEY, OR WHEELERSBURG. BUT I DON'T SEE THAT HAPPENING, JACKSON SOUNDS FAIR TO ME. BUT IT'S HARD TO SAY. I PROMISE YOU IT WILL FAVOR THE JOHNNIES , BUT FRANKLY I COULD CARE LESS, I'M JUST READY FOR SOME WEEK 12 OHSAA PLAYOFF FOOTBALL, AND THE FIGHTING TIGERS ARE THERE AGAIN.I WANNA JUST BE THANKFUL THIS YEAR , AND NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN HOW OHSAA SHAFTS US, BECAUSE THEY GENERALLY DO. I JUST WANNA BE THERE.

and yes, tanks memorial stadium was very sparse tonight, frankly it has me concerned. but i hope the crowds pick up, we have a fine squad out there playing this year, and with so many injured out there right now. they are really making a gutsy effort to thrive as a team.

Wheelersburg has all the parking you need. There is an entire school parking lot across pirate drive from the stadium at the new schools.

they have the parking all right, and i'd love to go there, but a nightmare getting out. they need more than 1 officer at the intersection. they need 1 to let the flow of traffic out within the lot. and go on his/her command only. clint eastwood had a famous line in a movie and i won't go there about heartbreak ridge. but that sums up getting out of the burg parking lot.when the problem can easily be remedied by a couple more sheriffs deputies. i know counties are short on deputies, but they also have special deputies as well, just for such occasions.but nothing would suit me more than to be there or valley for that matter, or even jackson.

OSU 77 wrote:Ironton and area teams could play at some closer fields if teams in the area would host games. Schools need to have turf, parking and a lot of help from the community.

Let’s list some if I leave out someone out please post them:

Portsmouth - Great downtown area - Work out parking
Wheelersburg - Will need to work out parking issue
Valley - Has everything you need
South Point - Will need to work out parking issue
Coal Grove - Will need to work out parking issue
Rock Hill - Will need to work out parking issue
Waverly - If they put turf down next year
Ironton - If they put turf down next year
Portsmouth West - If they put turf down next year

PS Keep in mind any school can over come parking issues if they want to host a playoff game - It takes the community and help!!!!
I would add Oak Hill to the list of schools.

Keep in mind I think schools have to notify the state before the playoffs they want to host a game. Then they get approval from the state to host a game(s). Correct me if I am wrong but I think that is the process.

one thing that some are leaving out is, it's just not who's got turf, or an excellent new facility. you have to have ample parking, handicap accessable, great concession that can handle big crowds, ramps for wheelchairs, gates that can allow a fast flow, good sound system ,and most of all ample seating on both sides. the whole 9 yards. in the playoffs , it's not just for the two teams playing, but all the fans from other outlying communities that come, which really sweels the crowds up. and the further you advance the bigger they get.

What does it matter how long it takes to get out, you have somewhere to go? LOL

I have sat in the parking lot at Lancaster and NY waiting to get out. We solve that by not rushing to our car just to sit and get mad because the traffic is not moving. We hang out in the stands and let the traffic thin out. NY had one road out of the satdium area and was on it for well over 30 minutes. What people don't realize is if you are in the big parking lot, you can turn left out of there and go down Gleim road back down to Old Gallia. That is the road that goes in front of the school. That to me is the way Ironton people would want to go if they were going home. Even if they wanted to go back in to town to eat, they can get on Ohio River road in front of Kroger's to get back to the restaurant.

It would be nice to see the Burg get a playoff game in the first year of the new stadium. I believe it could hold it.

NO DOUBT BROTHER THEY HAVE A FINE FACILITY, AND I EXTREMELY DIG THE PLACE, AND THE PIRATE THEME.
ALL I'M SAYING IS GET A COUPLE DEPUTIES OUT THERE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. NOTHING WOULD PLEASE ME MORE THAN TO PARK THE BAITMOBILE THERE FRIDAY. AND ACTUALLY THEY COULD USE A SHUTTLE TO GET WHEELCHAIR PEOPLE DOWN THE HILL SAFELY.BUT A FINE FACILITY INDEED.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY. JUST HAVE FUN BEING AT THE PLAYOFFS. NO MATTER WHERE YOU END UP.

What does it say about the other R23 game Rosecrans-Danville?
