Just kind of curious how many teams have to be included before it can be considered a state championship, 7,8,9,10,15,20,30.

The number is definitely not 5.

At least in Kentucky where the championships are most definitely watered down with 6 champions, the breakdown for the number of teams in each division is as follows:

1A - 32 teams
2A - 39 teams
3A - 41 teams
4A - 38 teams
5A - 40 teams
6A - 32 teams

Wow so every team in 6a makes it then? Sure you have to play more games then they do in the NCISAA but half of your bracket is .500 percent or less. Sure they Only have to win 2 games to claim thier title but only one .250 of teams were below .500.

My point is nobody is down talking the accomplishments of ky schools for competeing in a tournament that everyone qualifies for. Even though it is obviously easier then Ohio. I admitted that thier state titles are less impressive because of the athletic association they play in but they are still doing things right and achieve the highest point they can and have earned national ranking because of it.

Every 6A team makes it.

It is a horrible system, but it is what we have for now.

Last time I checked, 32 > 5.

Hmmm well don't keep us in suspense let us know. I know there is a great phs grad out there that is more the qualified but I didn't expect to see him put in for it.

I would think the kentucky trojan horse candidate would be AJ Pratt. Definitely an interesting candidate. Probably the most qualified candidate out there and a phs grad to boot. If there is any legitimacy to him being interested in coming back home, it would be hard for portsmouth to turn him away imo

That's who I assumed he was hinting at aswell but I haven't heard anything about him being interested if he is it would be near impossible to pass him over unless I'm missing something.

Kentucky Trojan you talk about 5 teams is not a real Championship at least they played to win. What about when the school (Portsmouth) passed out State Championship rings to a team for finishing first in the POLLS....NOT on the field do you remember?????

I don't believe he's talking about AJ Pratt, guys.....I believe he's talking about another KY coach that would run a "military-type" of program :122245

That's all Clifford talked about in his speech at the banquet...what he said in the PDT article, was what he said at the banquet. "Go ask Ed Miller at ND, or go ask Coach Lutz at Ironton if their AP Titles count." Blah blah blah......Yes, we are proud of that great accomplishment. But, it's just a cop-out by Clifford to cover up how he screwed up the State Playoffs that year.

I remember.

Yes, compared to the passing out of rings for the AP #1 ranking, you are correct.

A better question would be to ask lutz and miller if the state titles their teams earned on the field
Were sweeter than the ones the AP gave them!
