I wouldn't be handing the Championship to Marshall just yet, They were fortunate to play in the weakest region in the state where they made SEO look like chumps. The other 3 regions aren't bad and I expect very competitive games in State semis & finals.

Great season Bulldogs. You guys earned a lot of respect and lets not forget the core of their players are only sophomores. I see a bright future for the Bulldogs

You are the saddest piece of work on this site old man. You should go back and coach Logan, you guys are a perfect fit right now, considering how dominate they've been lately.

Yes, its sad when you have NO ONE from SEO even getting out of the Regional. Weak sister. Watching the rest of the state playing superior football.

If you won't do anything about it, live with it.

BTW, I predicted this blowout and as usual, the clueless here were wrong.

I'd look for a potential match up of Marshall vs Akron SVSM for the Championship. Marshall might get lucky, but expect SVSM may be too tough on D. And Marshall has to beat Bellevue to get there, which won't be easy. They also play good D.

Excellent season Bulldogs and you've made all of SE Ohio proud of your team effort this year. Be proud of the history that you've made.

Got to say..... all the different fans and students that showed up for the game tonight, Nelsonville York, Trimble, Alexander, Circleville, Jackson,
and Shawnee from what I saw, makes me proud to be from SEO, also the best bunch of laid back hunting buddies and friends anyone can ever hope to have are from this region.

BTW Paladin....... Most of the adult folks around here are not clueless, they just have the class to not post garbage for potential students/players to read. TM has been playing like champs all season and really laying down the smack on everyone, it hasn't been a secret to anyone.

Good Luck to TM and take it all the way, you have earned it.

Congratulations Bulldogs on a great season, you made school history this year and will go down as one of the greatest teams ever at Athens. Thurgood Marshall was clearly a better football team last night especially on defense, their front is good enough to create pressure without blitzing the LB's allowing them to provide excellent coverage downfield all night long. Their offense is good but not spectacular and I know that sounds stupid after giving up 60, but the QB doesn't throw well at all and truely they don't block very well up front but they do have some talented backs who made some very nice moves and were able to shake free for some long runs. The Athens defense played well early and was in position all night to make even more plays throughout the game but some poor tackling habits and some arm tackling by a few players cost the Bulldogs on multiple occasions giving up long runs that should have been limited to minimal gains. Good luck to the Cougars for the rest of their journey.

Speaking as the unofficial "Voice of the Bulldogs", I want to thank all of the southeastern Ohio fans who went to the game and cheered for our team. Seeing signs of good luck on the Nelsonville businesses was really nice. PitStop, Sonic, and Blackburn's support was very much appreciated by the Athens team and fans. The crowd was so into the game that they made the pressbox shake. What a great atmosphere! Bringing home the Runnerup trophy that will go into the trophy case will be a reminder for always to the players and coaches who made this year so special. Thanks for the ride, Bulldogs!

After watching the tape replay of this game, have changed my mind. Marshall will not win state. Not that good.

Seen TM play twice this year, they played a little sloppy last night. Still think they will win the State DIII.

Yes it is hilarious, TM may not win, but to say they are not that good based on viewing one replay is silly. I wonder if he watched just one game of his opponent when he was coaching, or if he watched multiple performances of his opponent? Perhaps that would explain his success or lack thereof.
