So Piketon and Fairfield played only twice? And how did you come up with Fairfield by 15?Ironman92 wrote:So.... Fairfield over Southern 47-24

A simple crossing of numbers....it was eye-crossing trying to figure out how well each team did looking at all 7.BillyHoyle42 wrote:So Piketon and Fairfield played only twice? And how did you come up with Fairfield by 15?Ironman92 wrote:So.... Fairfield over Southern 47-24

I wouldn't pay attention to the combined scores. The coaches all used several player combinations that will not be used once the season starts.
I made the trip to watch the Fairfield / Piketon matchup. Fairfield was able to match Piketon's athleticism and it was fun to watch.
Both teams will be fun to watch this season, if you like up tempo games.

I figured we could get voting going for the next poll on Wednesday, December 5. That will allow most teams to get a game or two in. The voting will then close Sunday December 9 at 11:59 pm.
Poll opens: Wednesday, December 5
Poll closes: Sunday, December 9, 11:59 pm

I'll likely submit on that Sunday, but for now I'm very excited for our 4/5 matchup on a neutral court on Friday night. Even without Jordan Kidd, I think the Vikings will be able to compete with LE. I'm not sure if they will have enough offense in the end though.

I think it's safe to say at this point in the early part of the season Portsmouth and Burg are not top 10 teams and does Vintons lack of any post play knock them out of top 10. Maybe some love for Webster,Notre Dame, or Eastern Pike !?! Can't wait for next weeks poll.

VC post player has to sit out the first two games ...lightle04 wrote:I think it's safe to say at this point in the early part of the season Portsmouth and Burg are not top 10 teams and does Vintons lack of any post play knock them out of top 10. They also played without their PG last night versus Logan Elm.
Down 2 starters and they only lose by 9 - I think somewhere in the top 10 is just about right for the Vikings.
Re: SEOP Preseason Top 10
The only post player they had last eek when we scrimaged them was a freshman I thought. But I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time . Lol !

Who all started the weekend 2-0?
Paint Valley wins the Clay Tournament with a win over Northwest tonight
Miami Trace is 2-0 with impressive margins over Lynchburg and Adena. Their sophomore twins are outstanding.

Re: SEOP Preseason Top 10
I'm going to adjust voting for the second poll. Originally I said it would run from Wednesday to Saturday. Instead, voting will take place starting on Friday, December 7 at 10:00 pm, and end on Monday, December 10 at 12:00 pm. This will allow for the new poll to be posted every Monday. I think this will be the best schedule to follow. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT VOTES UNTIL THE TIMES STATED! Thanks to everybody participating on this. It's going well. I'm allowing an extra week after preseason til the second poll to allow teams to play their first game or maybe a few more. Not all teams have played a game and I think it's only fair every team has at least one game to go off of.

Re: SEOP Preseason Top 10
Eastern Pike will never be in the top 10.. They are in the worst conference in basketball. Send them to the other side of the SOC, and they wouldnt win 3 games. You could send them to any conference, and they wouldn't be 3rd even. No disrepect to Eastern, but they are just not even close to the top 10. They don't play anyone, besides Waverly, and Piketon IF they beat Waverly. Piketon beat them in the foundation game, and they were missing 7 guys (5 seniors) due to still playing in the playoffs.lightle04 wrote:I think it's safe to say at this point in the early part of the season Portsmouth and Burg are not top 10 teams and does Vintons lack of any post play knock them out of top 10. #2 Piketon will kickoff it's NBA schedule this weekend at home vs Westfall. The Streaks will play 5 games in 9 days over the next two weeks. Reports from my sources; lackluster scrimmages, some key nagging injuries and football players still tackling :122245 may get the Streaks off to a slow start. I'm sure Coach L will whip'em into shape by the Holiday Classic. I look forward to watching this bunch of kids, should be another successful season if all things go well.
Re: SEOP Preseason Top 10
Eastern plays 5 D-3 schools possibly 6 if they can get by Waverly who is a d-2 school. So of there 22 games this season they play 6-7 games aginst much bigger schools . Find anouther team in the top 10 that plays against that many bigger schools a third of there schedual is played aginst bigger schools they are one of the smallest schools in ohio.

That hurt my eyes.
If Oak Hill is formidable because of "Norm"....then you need to include Western because of "Larry"
