This whole thing is crap. How can Wahama have 3 consecutive titles and yet Trimble gets a unanimous player of the year and a coplayer of the year? I just hope we win it again next year.

I wouldn't have mind seeing Gibbs get co-player of the year with Standley ... I think he deserved it - as did Konner. The Little General wrote:This whole thing is crap. One problem (or its not really a problem) Little General is that Wahama and head Coach Cromley are so balanced every year in what they do ... Wamsley, Gibbs, Roush, Neal - all those kids had a part in the offense - and there is never that one player that outshines the others on the field when it comes to the White Falcons ... you had the same thing last year with Gibbs, Lee & Grimm.
I mean hey, you passed up the opportunity for individual awards (by being a complete football team) for a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ... pretty good trade-off, IMO!

The same thing happened to Southern at baseball last year for OPOY.

You won a league title, sectional title, district title, had the C.O.Y and D.P.O.Y ... gettin a little greedy aren't ya Charlie? ........
Had Pape been a senior, the OPY race would have been a little tighter I think ... but I didn't have a problem with Chesser winning it, the kid is a heckuva hitter.

Not greedy at all. Going by numbers I will put Southern's top three offensive players up against any in the league. Pape, Roseberry and Martin all had outstanding numbers. Not taking anything away from Chesser, he had great year hitting and pitching.

I think had Andrew played baseball all four years - and racked up a gazillion steals and runs over that span - he may have edged out Chesser ... he did have a great year, as did Martin ... great seasons and good individual performaces get lost when your surrounded by other great players though, which is why the baseball players for Southern and football players from Wahama don't win more POST SEASON INDIVIDUAL AWARDS, IMO.
Its a trade off I think - but ask any of the kids and I bet they like the team success better anyhow ...
