No real suprises other than the fact that Ferry chose to play Fort Frye instead of possibly needing to beat Trail plus MC to get to districts.

PVC Standings 1. River 14-4 (8-2)- Can clinch PVC with wins over Monroe Central and @ Fort Frye. They play Rosecrans (2-18) on 2/26 @ Union Local in sectional semi. 2. Fort Frye 12-6 (8-3)- Have won 8 straight league games can clinch a league title with a win @ 2/18 River. They are the 1 seed and play winner of 5. Ferry (9-7) and 7. Bellaire (3-16) in Sectional Final 3/1 7pm @ Meadowbrook. 3. Monroe Central 12-7(8-3) Can also clinch league title with win @ River. They just stomped Trail and got 2 seed @ Meadowbrook. They will play 6. West Muskingum (5-14) 2/23 7 pm Sectional Semi. 4. Buckeye Trail 12-6 (7-4) Slumping and dealing with injuries the 3 seed plays 4 seed Shenadoah @ Meadowbrook 2/22 7 pm. 5. Shenandoah 10-9(5-6) Have picked up a few wins they got a big one at Meadowbrook vs Trail 2/22 7 pm. 6. Frontier 5-15(1-11) They played a tough D4 schedule and it helped them get a good draw and good matchup vs Barnesville on 2/27 @ Union Local. 7.Caldwell 3-15 (1-10) - What a disappointment they just lost to 0-19 Morgan. They got a terrible draw vs 1.Hiland on 2/26@ 6 pm at New Philly.

Yes. They had to pick against MC, FF, or Trail and decided to go with Trail. I think they felt the matchup was better and probably the fact of our injury and play against MC.

Meadowbrook D III Sectional:
#1 Fort Frye, #2 Buckeye Trail, #3 Monroe Central, #4 Martins Ferry, #5 Shenandoah, #6 West M, #7 Bellaire

Fort jumped to the Bye in the top bracket.
Trail jumped to bottom of the bottom bracket.
Central took top of bottom bracket.
Ferry chose top bracket where Fort is sitting and waiting.
Shenandoah chose to play Trail over Central.
West M chose to play Central over Ferry.
Bellaire had only one choice, Ferry with Fort waiting.

The big choices: Ferry going up top with Fort. Ferry likes the match up with Fort, I guess. Shenandoah going with Trail was a good choice. They had to choose between Trail, Central and Ferry. Trail is now the weakest of the three. They lost a key player. The other big choice was West M choosing to play Central and not Ferry. Ferry's big man was out recently, but will be back for tournament. They have REAL size. West M will match up better with Central than Ferry and if they win they get to play Doah or Trail instead of Fort for a sectional title. This should be an excellent sectional.

Schau is very good scorer but FF has one if districts top defenders in Chandler Lang. Ferry is much slower and will have matchup problems if they play Vargo(6-8) and Strama (6-3) at the same time.Look for Cadets to push it and run the slower riders. Also MF has no real PG.I think Ferry should of jumped of Trail.

Ferry plays zone and feels the matchup with Fort Frye is better for them. Trail still has too many shooters and MC would press them to death is my opinion on their choice. Also heard their coach holds grudges so whether last years game is the reason or the way the voting went down at the draw influenced their choice.

Well not sure if you knew this Shon Smiths a pretty good shooter himself lol. Ferry returns all there studs from last season they probably love the matchup. They have stomped Bellaire 2x and probably think it's easier to beat FF 1 time then MC and Trail.West M is going to struggle bad vs MC press.

I agree that Shon is a very good shooter but its easier to locate 1 guy on Zone defense than multiple shooters. I think the key will be Seth beaing his man up the floor to get easy layups and if he can knock down his outside shot.

Trail's intensity level. We are not deep and last time we played back to back River spanked. But came back and beat them also @ home. Toland stayed out of foul trouble - 23 points and kept Lafferty from penetrating. Now got Magnolia.
