Wow. Piketon the only team that "could" challenge Portsmouth? I know that the Trojans have played a tough schedule to this point, but to call the next five "easy" is a stretch. Portsmouth is 4-7. To get to 9-7 they would have to win at Piketon and at Ironton. I would also not overlook Logan (has a win over Chillicothe) and Whiteoak (won 4 in a row).

I think Portsmouth would feel good to get to 8-8. I know that the Trojans are a team not many will want to see in the tournament, but IMHO, I don't see Portsmouth at any better than 10-11 at the date of the draw.
I wasn't including Ironton. I was Including Logan, Whiteoak, Piketon, and Jackson. (We have already played Gallipolis.)

Every team in the jackson sectional would come out of the wellston sectional except Rock Hill, who beat wellston. The district board says they want the best teams at the CONVO. The district board cares about MONEY not the best teams advancing and they have no arguement in this fight period...

I just hope the Trojans can stay out of the 8-9 seed, because the winner of that game will play Ironton (they should get the #1 seed hands down on schedule strength).......PHS has been up and down all season, but we are very capable of pulling off an upset if we play the way we did vs. Ironton (53-51 loss). Consistency has been very elusive for the Trojans, though, with a starting 5 that has a freshman and two sophomores.

That will be very tough for them to do. I think Rock Hill is pretty well locked in at #11. Portsmouth may be better off at #10, but with a wins over South Point and Wheelersburg, they may end up at #8. I think the only way Portsmouth gets to #7 is if West struggles down the stretch.

Portsmouth is 3-1 in their last 4 games and they host Jackson tonight.. They will more than likely be 4-1 heading into the Ironton game and riding some momentum and confidence after the outcome of the first meeting (Lost 53-51) and after the 5 game stretch. Other than the first quarter against Piketon, the Trojans played the Redstreaks pretty close (Only losing by 8 the rest of the way). I just hope they can play Ironton as well as they did the first time. GO TROJANS!

Redstreaks led at all stops 1st quarter 22-10, 2nd quarter 40-26 (18 Pk) (16 Por) , 3rd quarter 59-35 (19 Pk) (9 Por), 4th quarter 73-47 (14 Pk) (12 Por) Piketon dominated the 1st and 3rd quarters, and won the 2nd and 4th as well.

This was just 1 game, but dont try to play it off as if Portsmouth played better than they did. Absolutely no slam against the Trojans, but dont try to diminish what the Streaks did either.

With Burg and Portsmouth down and Peake not as good as normal, that may be true. But, with Coal Grove, Minford, and West all improved, this is still the best D3 sectional by a very wide margin.

Ironton should be the unanimous #1. I think the Oak Hill-Valley game will have a lot to do with the seeding. If Valley wins, I think they get the 2 and Oak Hill slides to 4. If Oak Hill wins, I think they go to 2 and Valley goes to 3. That is if those teams win the games they are supposed to over the next 3 weeks. I say it ends up like this:

1. Ironton
2. Valley
3. Minford
4. Oak Hill
5. Peake
6. Coal Grove
7. Wheelersburg
8. West
9. Portsmouth
10. South Point
11. Rock Hill

Tuesday's Game Slate:

Waverly at Minford
Oak Hill at South Webster
Northwest at Valley
Wheelersburg at West
Portsmouth at Ironton
South Point at Chesapeake
Rock Hill at River Valley

We are 19 days away from the draw and there are a ton of things to be decided. I think the only thing we know for sure is that Ironton will be the #1 and Rock Hill will be the #11.

Here is my guess for how it shakes out....A lot can change in 2+ weeks.

1. Ironton....Great wins and a beast of a schedule
2. Valley....I believe they have put it together and will win out until the draw. Do that and their wins vault them over Oak Hill.
3. Minford....Head to head win over Oak Hill breaks the tie..could change with a loss at Chesapeake
4. Oak Hill....Will be the #2 with a sweep of Valley
5. Chesapeake....Here because they have already beaten Grove...If Grove gets the split, move them here
6. Coal Grove....Nice record but no truly impressive wins...Beat Peake and they go to #5
7. Portsmouth...A lot to be decided here...depends on how West plays...Siders can play into #7 because Trojans will be pressed to get to 9 wins
8. West.....With Burg, Waverly, Valley, Minford, and Eastern left, they will have plenty of chances to jump to #7 or even #6 if Peake falls apart
9. Burg....If they beat West and get the sweep, then move them up...only 2 wins since 4-1 start are over Northwest (1-11) and Alexander (3-11)
10. South Point...Harvest Prep win has lost its luster...not much else to stand on
11. Rock Hill....Would be the #9 at Athens
