Paladin rising
Just a short note..........been off line for awhile. Went into the Cleveland Clinic Dec. 3 for hip replacement surgery. It went well and they had me walking the same day as the surgery. Four days later, was released to a Rehab center where I'll spend around 30 days to recover normal use. Access to computer is limited, so won't be on much. Happy Holidays to all 8)

Re: Paladin rising
frankly me and you have had our differences, that's no secret
but i've had a knee replacement, and probably looking at one to the other leg.
but i've been there, and i pray you have a complete and full recovery.
i figure 5 years from now they'll start on my hips.i'm not looking forward to it.
it is amazing how quick they have you up walking isn't it.
i mean it seems like just after the goof juice wore off , i was walkin down the hall.
it's incredible what the human body can endure.
anyhoo, i'm glad you had a successful surgery, and i'll pray for your recovery as well, god bless you.

OK, as a poor typist, I know this comment was a "typo", but what a Freudian slip!kantuckyII wrote:Glad you don't good! I need me two new hips. Soon I hope
'tucky "gladly" wishes "don't good" on all who ever choose to disagree with his views, doesn't he?
As an RN, I remember well that patients who got up and moving post-op more quickly despite some discomfort did the best and recovered sooner. Up and moving is "DO GOOD", Paladin!!!!
P.S. - wiggle your toes frequently and repeatedly while lying or sitting down. Even that small muscle movement will strengthen muscles and improve circulation/ blood flow to legs and hips.

Re: Paladin rising
Well, its gone really well. They discharged me this morning from the Rehab center. I'm wALKING with no use of a cane or a walker. Other than the first four days with a walker for exercise and kept steady, I've been on my own since. They said I was an advanced patient coming out of surgery and a quick recovery in Rehab. What was scheduled for 30 days in Rehab was cutoff at 2 weeks, 2 days. I'm home now. I had no pain, ever and other than tightness in the muscle group, got stretched out quickly and into a good range of motion. What used to be a painfull arthritis hip causing a limp & discomfort is gone now. Lookinhg forward to rasing he11 again and doing the activitites I enjoy. Merry Xmas to all.
