7 returning starters on defense and 7 on offense. Dray, Gilbert, Rinehart, Taylor have started since they were freshman.

If the administration would commit to their sports programs like they do with their arts programs, I would imagine that a lot of good coaches would be interested in this job

He didnt step down. He was fired through a letter in the mail. Even though he is at school every day. Amazing how bad the administration is at Waverly!
Re: Waverly Tigers Football 2013
Granted it could have been handled better, but that wasn't how it went down at all.
He was told he was being non-renewed by the High School Principal.
All coaches are non-renewed every year, standard procedure at most schools. They then choose to bring someone back or not.

Excited to see them finally makeing some changes.no offense to those locally, but I feel we need to go "outside" the program and rebuild from the bottom up.but whoever the next coach is must make defense a-top priority to bring our football program back to respecability!
Re: Waverly Tigers Football 2013
The current coaching staff has been committed to this program for a long time and I think everyone appreciates all that they have done for the boys over the years, but it is time for change. To hire in house would be a mistake. If they choose to hire someone in house, it will be the same old same old. The program needs a fresh start and the only way that will happen is if they hire out of house. If they get a new coaching staff, I think you will see a big jump in the number of boys that come out.

Do they have any teaching positions to bring in a new head coach and staff? If not te the Assistants and head coach will have to come from within. I honestly feel there are some very good football minds there. Would Waverly consider a non teacher to be their HC? If so then DRbRobinson comes to mind as HC

Good luck in finding the right coach and good luck in letting the new coach have control to do the way he and the new staff sees fit.

Although D.R. is a very strong supporter of the program, he doesn't have time to coach and isn't interested in the job.
