Where does the mentality of the team come from? That is a coaching issue also. I saw one play at the beginning of the game. That is one of many things wrong. What does this team do at practice? Would like to see a practice. That team has loads of talent. Could of won this game by 10-15. Told they could of won several games they lost by that much. Reminds me of a pick up game. They were ahead by 8 or 10.
You must of never been an athlete then if you think mentality can't be changed. Kids fault eh. Dont matter, there is still time for a team like this to turn it around. You must know how to get
the most out of your players, play to your playmakers, know who they are, and design a team like this around them and the team you are playing. Lift players up in practice and teach, not degrade them. Teach fundamentals. The tournament is a fresh start for every team.

Didn't West play Wheelersburg last night? Isn't Wheelersburg 11-1 overall and 9-0 in the SOC? From what I'm hearing they are a pretty good team, and leave alot of teams and coaches scratching their heads. So maybe it wasn't so much West's coaching as it was just playing a pretty good team.

Little surprising. Rivalry kept it closer than expected.
Coach Horsley and Coach Fortney are two of the classiest gentlemen you'll come across, I92 ... they probably see no value in beating a team by more than 20 - unless its flat out unavoidable.

West had the lead by 10 and could not sustanin that lead. The better team lost. If you would of seen it you would agree. I watched them give this game away.

So the Alexander girls had nothing to do with it?

I didn't mean it like that at all ... I didn't even watch the game vs Alexander ... my point was more toward Athens not beating up on teams (that maybe down) throughout the season ... you don't see the 65-20 scores like you see elsewhere when it comes to Athens.

that s all.

sorry if my earlier post appeared differently.

Tell me how this is. I wasn't there. You give the opposition no credit here. No matter what coaching is out there, you still have to defend and hit shots. how would you're coaching fix this
with your basketball awesome knowledge?

Here's some basketball knowledge for ya: Maynard has coach this group of girls to the most wins in PW Girl's Basketball HISTORY. Including Back 2 back 2 back Sectional Titles (which also has never occurred), and a 17-4 record last season. Let me remind you that they have lost ZERO players to graduation in the last three years! Same group of girls, different outcome. Get a clue, Local Superstar.

I dontt know West coach from a hole in the ground but I did hear Burg folks say out loud they were glad he is the coach.I also know what I an everyone there saw. You must be his family rookie. I stand by my opinion. I Think West got out coached and could of won. Not taking anything away from Burg. They seem to have a great program. The only attitude I saw was the West coach.

Maybe he has had alot of talent. Still does and cant win? Havent they had alot of trouble at West with players quitting? Same group and cant win? Maybe you need to get a clue for real. You are proving my point.

Didn't these two coaches square off to a tight game. I think Oak Hill only won by 6? That sounds pretty evenly matched. So if West had Hale you would have won by ...what...40?

Your a coach? Bashing another coach on an open forum? I would expect that from a parent or some of the snot nose kids that tend to run all over this site, but a coach? That's sad, as Fat Albert would say "Your like school in July....No Class!".
