Western vs Green JR high
Never so disgusted with the game I love as I was tonight watching what went on tonight at Green. Blown away by the way the game was called, and more importantly by the conduct of the coach of Green. (At least one of them anyway) The boys assistant deserves credit for disciplining the young man who out of anger shoved a Western player into the stands. No call was made by the refs, just Westerns ball out of bounds. As bad as that was, after the coach took him out for oblivious reasons, he decides to put him back into the game. Any Coach worth anything takes that kid out, and doesn't put him back in for a couple games. But I guess winning was more important to him. Then to mock Western fan while your putting him back in is disgraceful. Congrats Coach on the win on the court, but it was a loss on your character, and morals. Always hard to get a win at Green, that's basketball. But to lose our dignity, not acceptable. I was ashamed of the game I love tonight, because what did we teach the kids in this one. Very proud of Westerns Coach for his composure tonight. I was also proud of Greens assistant coach for his actions. Can't say the same for the referees (for allowing such foolishness to persist), and Greens head coach. Very sad:(

I heard one of our faithful got tossed last night. Any idea who it was?
Re: Western vs Green JR high
It is only fair for you hear from the other side. Not that it will change anything, but there is always.two sides to a story. Your judgement of a fine young man is completely out of line!!. And your coach knew that Greens coach was trying not to run the score up on his team, the reason he started his subs the 2nd half. But your team,to their credit came back, making it smart to put some of the starters back in.And the kid that pushed, was called for a foul. And the asst.coach was addressing something that had nothing to do with that play.No mention of the heckling from your fans, that's OK in fact he knows it will and dose happen. Now as far as the Refs go, from what I have seen it was a avg.game[wait until you go to S.Valley, and get the 1-armed bandit now you can grip] So good luck to you and don't let your love blind you and make judgement of someone you don't even know.IndianFan4life wrote:Never so disgusted with the game I love as I was tonight watching what went on tonight at Green. Re: Western vs Green JR high
I have read and re-read Indianfans post. All he said was a Green player shoved a Western player into the stands. That sounds more like a clear fact than a judgement. GTO, are you saying it was purely accidental? Or was it a shove out of frustration/anger? From the post there also seems to be confusion about what happened after the shove (foul or Western ball out of bounds)?

jr high games like these normally happen about once a year in the SE, last year it was Peebles and Lynchburg. You never like to see it but they do happen and I dont think its right for this to be posted without giving the green coach a chance to defend his character. just my opinion...
Mods can we move this to the jr high forum please
.............................and that my friends, is the UGLY TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted so that he may get on this forum and do just that. He deserves to give his side, but I do not agree with GTO. There was no foul called on the play (very close to the bookkeeper). She stated no foul, just out of bounds to Western. If you were there, surely you would agree that it was worthy of a technical, followed with an ejection. Im saying that at Western the player is out, and doesnt see the floor for a few games. Not sure about running up the score, but thats what it looked to be. AS far as the referee, dont agree that he should be a coach at the school, and calling the game. I seen this same referee in a game this past monday, and he did a great job. Little harder to be objective when your calling for your own school. This is the last I will say about this matter on this forum.

Checked with the coach ,he was charged with a foul. The player reacted to a forearm and pushed the other kid. His reaction was wrong but what a lot of 14yr old would do. I don,t like home refs either[reason for S.V. remark] , and like the eagle said just a J.H. game. My point was not fair to judge someone you don't know. There is to much of that in this world already. Have a good season and be thankful we still have this freedom of speech.
