This will be a close game! VC comes in with experience and all the "swag" that goes with being TVC's version of Alabama's football program. And Athens with great young talent and size. I feel that this will be the last year for a while that ANYONE in the TVC (not named the Bull Dogs) has a shot of putting up a banner in their gym. IMO it comes down to VC making their FT's. If they go down VC by 6 if not Athens by 5. Only time will tell. Good luck to both programs.

The only VC game Ive been to this year was the opener vs Logan Elm and VC struggled with their foul shots. Has this aspect of their game got any better?

I'd say it has bluegrass. I don't know the specific stats but having watched nearly every game, I think they have gotten better from the stripe. I do know they were 17-22 in a 9 point win @ Wellston.

This matchup deserves a good officiating crew.

Tip off in 5 minutes. Athens freshman won by 11 I believe and VC won the Jv contest by 4.

Skinner can't complain about the officiating tonight.

I'm pretty sure neither team played up to their potential ... it was basically just a battle of attrition - and Athens ended up on top.

I expect game 2 to be much different - and higher scoring.

Great point Dundas. I guess technically when you don't make it to the line FOR THE ENTIRE GAME & go 0 for 0.....that's "perfection" I'm not saying that cost VC the game, but man that crew was terrible. Congrats Athens on your win.

The Warren game last week was the same Ty ... and the game I watched out at Fed Hock Tuesday ... the refs are allowing a ton of hand-checking - and what not - and just not calling it.

and hill was slapping the hell out of burrow. vc was too short to get fouls when the ball is being spiked out of bounds. vc did play well. kept it slow
