Valley @ Waverly 1/15

Post by tiger2012 »

Valley coming in tied for 1st place in the league and the favorite in this one. Waverly is starting to turn things around after some distractions and a rough start to the beginning of the season. If Waverly plays with the same intesity and sense of urgency that they had against Oak Hill and South Webster, I can see the tigers making this a very close game and could even come away with the victory. This Tiger team is young and very hungry. I'm looking forward to this matchup, as it could go either way.

Thoughts??

I would love to see the Tigers upset the Indians in this matchup! Looks like the Tigers may have gotten it together as the Tiger team has been playing very well lately.

Good Luck!

Tigers struggled to find the bottom of the net on the road over the weekend so they'll be glad to be back in the friendly confines of the downtown arena. They overcame terrible shooting at Northwest Friday night to pull out the W but it was a different story at Peake Saturday night. Good defense held the Panthers to 45 points but Da Tigers couldn't find the basket.
Hopefully they get back on track tomorrow night.

If Waverly lights up their shooting % they could win this game. They will need a couple hot hands to make that happen.

If not, Valley is too athletic and should win.

Very close SOC race, and every game counts...Valley needs to focus in down the stretch and get it done!

36-33 Indians at the half.

West with 14 and Rolfe with 11 for Valley.

White has at least 15 for the Tigers.

Waverly couldn't overcome a bad 3rd period, Valley wins 74-66. Tigers trailed 52-43 after 3.
Valley had 5 players in double figures while Waverly had 4 scoring 10 or more.

Valley was lead by Bryan Rolfe and Jordan West with 16 each. Chris Flowers with 14, Hayden Dunn 11, Will Howard 10, Ryan Brown 4, Ethan Clark-Holbrook 2, Zach Shope 1. Valley hit all 6 of their threes in the 1st half. The Indians were 16-22 from the line.

Waverly was lead by Jean Paul White with 19, Philip Hart 16, Aaron Heibel 11 (9 in the 4th), Eric Rinehart 10, Joe Henderson 5, Adam Pearl 3, Amin Gilbert 2. Waverly hit 8 threes, 6 in the 1st half. The Tigers were 12-17 from the line.

Tigers got out of the scoring slump but couldn't stop Valley (too big and strong).
