Yes Seed meeting is fine. The bylaws say dues need to be paid before the start of the Sectional tournaments. All coaches please try and get your assistant coaches to pay also they will get to vote on the issues for paying. Thanks and please help support Southeast Ohio Wrestling. We are very low on funds if your school or booster program is willing to donate more it will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry the coaches have voted to do a pre season All-Star meet starting next season. The dues paid by those coaches will carry over for that meet. We need to work out the details on how to pick the wrestlers.

so if i understand this correctly....there will be no 2013 all star meet?, that is a shame for those wreslers trying to be multiple all star representatives for thier respective schools, this is seen as an honor for these kids and the previous multiple selectees record holders can never be matched. i also saw that the seoal did not recognise a coach of the year or mvp this year?. i must say that was disappointing due to previous coach of the year and mvp records being shown in the school record books, most would assume it wasnt ever won by an individual, not that it stopped existing.

Half of the wrestlers that our selected each year to wrestle in it are not the wrestlers originally selected. I would have to get nearly 20 replacements and 3 to 5 kids out of the stands. So if they are keeping this as a stat and a record most don't seem to show much interest. It is a great honor I love it and love putting it on. However not many coaches seem to interested at this time. 17 paying coaches out of 40. When is the last time you attended tha All-Star meet???? Many wrestlers have not even been taking it serious, goofing off and not wrestling serious. Many fans told me they was tired of coming to watch a circus. This was voted on by the majority of the coaches. I propose and go along. Sorry hope to make it a huge success in the Fall.

I fully support the decision that was made.
However, I would have liked to have been one of the 17 talked to about it as I did pay the money?
will the money we paid this year be rolled over to next year?

I emailed every coach all 40 paid or not if you did not get the email we need your update. What team do you coach? If you are new this year you may not have gave me your updated email. I went of my database. I do include all coaches who keep me with an updated list. Yes the money for those who paid will roll over.

regretfully all i can say is "wow" i just didnt realize the lack of enthusiasm from the area coaches. credit where credit is due...a sincere thank you to all the teams and coaches listed that took the time to pay the dues, and the staff that goes to the trouble of all the behind the scenes work that goes into the meet. 40 coaches....17 interested.....23 scratching heads wondering why southeast ohio doesnt get wrestling respect, fan turnout, and recognition. i agree that there was alot of clowning on the mat last year, and i will say i was not a fan of that. dont really know what could be done about it unless coaches would just advise sportsmanship over showmanship.

tric,
I am reggie wax from zane trace..
i fully support all you have done over the years it is very much appreciated.
I support the decision made.
I would have voted to still do this years for the seniors that would have been excited to participate and then start up next year going at the beginning of the year.
I think that my seniors would have enjoyed participating.
but it is what it is,

I wanted to go at the beginning years ago when I was at chillicothe and had those seniors that did not want to participate. I was surprised when I got back involved that it was stil going at the end of the year.
If there is anything I can do to help out lemme know,

Oh sorry coach guess my guess was wrong on who you was. If you did not get the emails we need to add you to the database. I agree I feel bad for the seniors also as I had 1 who finished 3rd in the state. The last few years it has really been tough to get kids to do it. I would start off with a list of 46 wrestlers and that list would have 20 changes we had at least 5 to 7 kids who never made it out of the Sectionals wrestling in it. And we would still have open spots that we could not fill. I hope the pre-season meet is every bit as nice and better than what we have been doing. Thanks Coach.

Tric. What if you do the all-star meet at the beginning of the year and recognize the 1st team all southeast district at the end of the year at a small banquet. I coach track and the SE coaches do a small banquet at Ponderosa in Jackson. The kids pay for there meal and our recognized. We hand out certificates for being all district and plaques for outstanding athlete.

Would that be a option? You could make 1st team all district as weight class champions. Then if you are a district placer or state qualifier who was not a sectional champion you are automatically 1st team.

2nd team could be runner-ups from the sectional and honorable mention 3rd and 4th Place winners.

Just a thought, what do you think?

I mentioned doing a banquet for all the State Qualifiers, however I did not get much response. Superdog I must not I send it out as a database that I got from Terry Young, so if you got no email it must be wrong. Please send it to me at [email protected]. I would love to do the banquet if the coaches are interested.

Could you have terry send out a email about doing a banquet. We would need a central location, or like isaid for track we goto the ponderosa in Jackson and you can call ahead they have a banquet room. Wrestlers love to eat. Coaches could association could do certificates or 1st team. Kids would have to pay for meals it usually is about 12.00. Parents could attend and we could even talk a little about the accomplishments during the season for SE area wrestling.
