Just based on scores I know they are more up tempo than last year. I have not seen them live this year saw them twice last year. Their most impressive win this year in my opinion was over Clinton Massive 48 35. I just think that they don't want to get into a track meet with Marietta. I think they need to play with the lead and control tempo but I have been known to be wrong before.

MT will not play with the lead like they did in the past. Totally different style than MT teams of the past.

No disrespect to the other teams in the district but this is the game that had worried me the most as far as possible matchups for MT even before the draw. It just seems that whether it was Warren or Marietta, both teams would be the most difficult matchup for MT. The year we went to the Final Four in 2010, Marietta was the best team we faced except for Kettering Alter in the state semis. I think the game will come down to a couple things, #1 is how we play Dawson and if we can hold her to a reasonable amount of pts and make her teammates beat us, #2 Trace cannot get in foul trouble especially McKay and Schwenk and we have to hit our shots because a few games where we got beat we couldn't hit the ocean standing on the beach. That's how we got beat by Unioto and Greeneview, two teams that in my opinion we were better than. I think this will be the best game of the four at Southeastern.

Over the last few weeks, with and without Dawson, Marietta has been hard to predict from game to game. Very, very up and down. Against Warren they seemed to get back in sync a bit with having Dawson in the line up.

Their weakness, from what I've seen, is the same as their strength. Dawson can be such a scorer that they at times seem to watch her play. The rest of the team is pretty good, but Dawson is just plain special. She has that ability to go off and have a 10-12 point quarter.

At this level of competition though she's going to face players that can shut her down for stretches and that will be the key for Marietta. Can they get other points, and can other players make free throws late.

Good game as most figured....now we'll see if MT can handle the adjustments Marietta will make for Dawson...not easy

38-32 - Miami Trace leads in the 4th ... they look to be handling the 'adjustements', I92.

Very nice! Good work by the Lady Panthers on reaching the Convo! Hopefully another team from out of ZT will also make it there.

Great Job Trace!!!

Hopefully the Trace coach ran around the court jumping and waving his arms after the win.

WHEW!! I was getting really worried in the 1st qtr when Marietta opened the game with a couple of 3's and built the lead up to 19-8 AND McKay getting in foul trouble. but my girls woke up and started playing ball in the 2nd and took off from there outscoring Marietta 43-29 in the last three quarters. i didn't get to go tonight but it sounded like (by the announcers) Trace stepped up the defense after the 1st qtr. The great thing about the Lady Panthers is that even when their senior leader has to sit down, they still have 2 or 3 players who can step up and contribute. Ariana Mabra is a very good all-around player. She usually defends the other team's best player, she's an excellent rebounder, and can score in double digits.

Congrats to the Lady Panthers!! Now let's go to the Convo and bring back a District Championship Tuesday!!

score by qtr
MT-6-20-12-11--49
MAR-14-9-9-11--43

Mabra 16 9 rebs
Schwenk 15 7 rebs
McKay 11 9 rebs
Henry 3
Wilson 2
Cobb 2 - her lowest scoring all year

Post of the year, his (Marietta's coach) actions at Jackson two years ago were an embarrassment and quite classless.

Good Luck (and great run) to all the graduating seniors. Dawson was remarkable to watch.
