Adena Westfall
would like to get some thoughts on incident involving Adena student and Waverly police last night at Waverly . It was a ugly incident and everyone in the gym saw what happened . the cop provoked the whole thing and should be fired today . Any thoughts ? It was an ugly scene and overshadowed the whole game . Westfalls inside game was too much for Adena . Congrats to them , good luck against Piketon .

Re: Adena Westfall
It was late in the game with three minutes left or so , a Waverly cop was escorting a Adena fan out of the gym right in front of Adena stands walking right behind him heading toward lobby . As soon as they got to doorway the cop started chirping a little and the kid turned around and did give him a lttle dirty look but im positive didn't say anything . Next thing you know the cop tackles him to the ground and another cop joined in . They then closed the doors and locked them so Adena.s fans couldn't see what was taking place . I dont know what happened but there was no commotion or anything on that end where students were , and i think he is a pretty mild mannered kid . I was talking to another cop after the game and he said he was resisting arrest , but i can assure u he wasn't resisting arrest ! I then told the cop that the other cop provoked and he said he wouldn't doubt it one bit . On top of that a guy was trying to make it out to lobby to assist , maybe the kids grandpa and fell face first on the floor and it took 4 or 5 people to help him up . Ugly incident .86Tiger wrote:What exactly happened?

I saw the entire incident from the Westfall stands and do agree that the cop who grabbed him as he was nearing the exit doors was completely out of line. The fan was leaving, and even if he was mouthing them or whatever the cop who grabbed him by the shirt near his chest and slammed him into the wall was definitely in the wrong. I along with several unbiased other fans expressed our thoughts to the Waverly principal who saw the whole thing and to the other police who were there. Nothing will probably ever come of this incident but I for one feel that this is a case of law enforcement using excessive force.

I agree totally , no way he was justified in doing what he did . Major black eye for Waverly police department .

Just heard about the incident and was wondering the truth to the entire thing. I was told, that when the fan got to the exit he poked the officer in the chest and then was taken down. I was also told the fan was heavily intoxicated. It's too bad the true story will never be known. Why was he asked to leave in the first place?

I saw the whole thing , he did not poke the officer in the chest . He was asked to leave supposedly yelling at the ref . If he was he was whispering . I never heard any commotion the entire game .svcbaseballfan wrote:Just heard about the incident and was wondering the truth to the entire thing.
