Congrats to the Lady Bulldogs. Athens played a nice game. Doseck hit all the free throws in the 4th in clutch time. IMO Emma Stanley was the difference. She was more aggressive than I had seen her. She played a very smart game and paced herself very well. She seems like a great kid and to me really stepped up and lead her team.

The final turnover total was 17-16 with Athens having 1 more but man it seemed like Jackson had way more and if Athens did have more.....they didn't have them in crunch time. Jackson lead by 5 in the 4th Athens hit both ends of a 1&1 and then Jackson inboundedthe ball directly to Doseck at the 3 point line with no one around and she BANKED it in....ugh....tie game. With around 2 minutes left on a loose ball that got to Doseck she put up a 3 and I thought it got blocked but the ref called a foul and 3 swishes later we trailed by 3. It happenned very quickly and quite honestly I'd need to see a replay to know but after not calling too much all game and letting a lot of contact go...I guess I just didn't see it. Kari Jenkins hit a 3 at the 4 second mark but no timeouts left and clock expired.

I really liked how the refs called the first half and I only disagreed with one call that would've given Jenkins 2 free throws (she was 6/6 on the game).....the second half I thought the bald guy had a bad half but thought the other two did a pretty good job.

Only 5 Ironladies scored. Ridout had 12, Jenkins 11 with 10 rb, Poe 10 with 11 reb, Hoover 8 and Speakman 3.

Great overall season and a pleasure to watch.

If I wanted to take 'candy-from-a-baby' - I would go knock my niece upside the head and take her twizzlers ... lol ... betting on next years football game would not even be fair I think ... we're pretty loaded buddy.

I don't even know what to say about the game ... I'm tickled to death Athens won ... but seeing the Jackson player, with her arms wrapped around her mom crying her eyes out, as we walked toward the door to leave - gave me an entire different view on the situation ... I really felt bad for that young lady!
