Re: Beaver eastern vs leesburg fairfield 3/5
This should be a good matchup. I know Eastern is a solid team and Fairfield can play well at times. We'll see if strength of schedule will be a factor or not. I'm not sure who all is on Easterns schedule but I know from the teams that were at the convo this past week Fairfield played Eastern Brown, Southeastern, Lynchburg, North Adams, Zane Trace amd they also played Miami Trace. Hopefully that level of compitition will help them against Eastern.

That's what makes the D-4 SHL teams so good every year is there schedual. Beaver played Oak Hill,Piketon,Waverly,Portsmoth West had Zane Trace scheduled but never got to play them due to weather.

I will have to take my Pike County friends in this one. I moved my family back to the Piketon school district from Leesburg and still have many friends there. Good luck to both teams but I say roll on Eagles 73-60!!

Eastern's quality wins - @Notre Dame, Wellston, Piketon@Waverly Classic, @Waverly
Eastern's losses - Notre Dame, Oak Hil, Ports West - All 3 being close with Eastern having plenty of chances to put these in the W column
Eastern also had on the schedule @Zane Trace which would have been a great test for the Eagles but due to mother nature this one was cancelled and not rescheduled

After watching ND barely get by the 6th place team in the Hocking I am going with Fairfield.

Obliviously you mean WEAKER than DIII or DII. You do know thats why its DIV dont you, smaller schools. The teams are what they are, and each team has to win to move on. Whether you think its weaker or not, they still have to show up, and win just like everyone else. Its very seldom that your going to find a DIV team as good as some of the best DII, or DIII teams that are out there. And, we are weeks past the seedings, time to quit crying about that. Its time to play....duck butter wrote:Eastern has the easiest road to the regionals. d4 is weak
Now back to the game at hand. Eastern runs away with this one by 14. I like how Fred Sanford picked Leesburg because of ND almost getting beat last night. These are two different teams, and I dont think Eastern has a let down tonight. 60-46 Eastern Pike.........

I was told Fairfield has a lot of height and their smallest starter is around 6'2''. This true and if not what kind of height do they have?

No, it's not. Their best player Quentin Williams is around 6' and Hilderbrandt is about the same. The rest of their starters are in the 6'2"/6'3" range, with the exception of Ryan Bates(all-league) who is around 6'4".tripledouble wrote:I was told Fairfield has a lot of height and their smallest starter is around 6'2''. I know they have the Bates kid inside at 6'5 and Montgomery at 6'2 or 6'3 who is a load. I believe Quentin Williams is 6' plus as well, so they will at least have the tallest player on the court in Bates.tripledouble wrote:I was told Fairfield has a lot of height and their smallest starter is around 6'2''. The Eagles should be able to get some points in transition tonight. Another key will be shot selection in the half court by taking good open 3's. If they out work and rebound Fairfield it should be a nice night to be an Eagle.
Re: Beaver eastern vs leesburg fairfield 3/5
Hope your right about the heights. That's a little closer to our size.
