All District Teams
I was looking at the team that was in the newspaper today and I think some of the selections was way off...I was told coaches voted on them and they need to get a clue
Re: All District Teams
Oh, you were on 14? I was referring to a rumor I heard from a guy who works in the mine with me.

Re: All District Teams
What all-district team are we talking about in particular here?
And what newspaper is being referenced?
The only all-district team from the "Southeast District" that has been formally released as of 2-27 is the District 14 Coaches Association girls team.
District 13, both boys and girls, is to be released around the weekend of March 8-10.
The Associated Press all-Southeast District teams will be released the evening of Tuesday, March 5.
ANYTHING that comes out before those dates is considered a leak and a blatant breaking of an embargo as set forth by those groups.

Re: All District Teams
I was wondering if anyone would start a post about this because I was very surprised when I read the District 14 selections a few days ago.
At first glance, I thought the coaches had gotten Division 3 exactly right for first team...until I saw Tori Leader sitting on second team. Let me say this about the girls who are on first team: I have seen all of them play at least once this year. They are good basketball players and all can make a case for being on that list. In fact, I think all are deserving so it is hard for me to say who shouldn't be on that list. Saying that so and so isn't deserving is unfair to these players who worked hard all season. With that said, Tori Leader is without a doubt, in my mind a player that SHOULD have been on first team. I have no problem with Jenny Grigsby getting POY--I actually thought it would be between Grigsby, Leader and Laney Lewis for top player in the district. But to see a player that I thought had a real chance of getting player of the year not even making first team is mind-blowing.
Again, I take nothing away from the girls selected and I in no way want to disrespect the coaches who had to make such hard selections. I just think it's a shame that one of the southeast's best talents doesn't get the recognition she deserves her senior year.

Re: All District Teams
took a quick glance at the picks in the PDT at the d-4 level -- picks looked like a disaster IMO , forgive me if I'm wrong as I did just take a rather quick look but Notre Dame goes undefeated in conference play and has two players receive recognition, Arnzen with POY and an HONORABLE MENTION PICK ( no 1st or 2nd teamers) ...... East and Green finish in the 1/2 lower half of same conference and both also have two kids receive district recognition. just my thoughts but that doesnt add up . MD

WHAT A SHAME FOR LEADER WHO NO DOUBT HAS THE BEST STATS IN THE REGION. WHAT A SLAM TO PHENOMENAL PLAYER. Re: All District Teams
It is always an agenda. IMO I get tired of seeing kids make it cause they are Seniors. It should be on talent alone, not records or grade level..alot of great players stay loyal to their programs. Selections should be can you play or not. As far as D4 selections it is wat is, ND had ONE great player and she was deservedly awarded, the other kid was a good player. IMO you look at a kid and say would she start or play on the top teams in the area. Webster is paying for the District title and in all honesty the freshmen fr them should have had strong consideration for first team.
Leader should have been in the top 2 hopefully.
Now remember this s only IMO, lol.

Re: All District Teams
It is even more of a travesty for Leader when you understand how they vote. For her not to make 1st team, some coaches had to not list her as one of the top 15 players in the district. They had to leave her off of their list. Unbelievable.

I agree. Again, I have no problems with Grigsby winning the award--she is a great player. But Tori Leader should have at least been in contention for the honor and a lock for first team.playa_44 wrote:WHAT A SHAME FOR LEADER WHO NO DOUBT HAS THE BEST STATS IN THE REGION. Re: All District Teams
Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt Tori Leader probably has some of the best stats in Ohio not just the region, and she doesn't get 1st team? Cant imagine how that makes a deserving player feel but it can't be good. Not sure what they are basing it on but it cant be stats. Does anyone have hers?
Re: All District Teams
Congrats to all these girls. Stats for Tori Leader are on maxpreps as follows: PPG 21.6 Assists 1.8 Rebounds 10.5 Steals 2.8 Blocks 1.0 Points 541. Great job.

Re: All District Teams
All girls deserving.
Agree Leader should have been 1st team.
Thought Leanne Adkins #23 Lady Oak should have made Honorable Mention list.

The AP is for the entire SE district...correct?
Why do the coaches have two separate one? More kids? Less travel to meetings? Coaches probably have a small fee to be a member.....I bet some coaches don't join and then their kids get left out. It's disgustingly bad in Track and Field
