The key to a VC win is a solid 4 quarters of defense and getting out on the perimeter and not allow the 3. Warren looked taller than VC on the floor, but as I have said before, the Vikes play taller than they really are. Several people have already written VC off, but lets just wait for game day and see what happens!!

Warren needs to play faster and to get up and down the floor. More pressure, more drive and kick, and more finishing at the rim. Playing a slower tempo will play into the hands of VC as I think they have the ability to hit more contested shots and run a little cleaner screen and roll game.

Warren has more athletes and more size but not necessarily better finishers. They will need to play with great pace to get the win.
If this game stays in the 40's low 50's I think VC gets a win.

If Warren gets to 55, they get a win.

So the survivor of that bracket faces, in all likelihood, St. Clairsville in Regional?

I know Athens is good. They beat River earlier in year at Marietta tournament, but it was pretty close. Don't know much about Warren except that this must be its best sports season in basketball in several decades.

Haha, Warren fans love their boys in blue. Im gonna take your post as a compliment. Its nice that someone can recognise that we want these boys to believe that they are the best. They are, they know we want them to do well.

VC is generally overrated year to year. Havent seen them play this year. Have they enjoyed another year of cupcakes leading to an easy record? I know Warren well. They are no cupcake and play top talent conf and non even though the SEOAL is down. I will take Warren by 17.

Be nice to see Warren get over the top and finally get a district championship trophy. Coach Maddox has a very nice program down there.

Rabeanos, obviously you have not seen them play nor read any of the posts that have been put on here over this season. You must not have the ability to check out VC's schedule and see who they have played this year. Before you run your mouth, investigate. Warren may be one of the top ranked teams in the area, but if they don't come to play and think VC is a pushover, they will be taking the long drive home Thursday and their season will be over. This game will come down to free throws. Lets see who makes them.

VC has been to 3 district title games in the last 9 years. I'd say there's probably 10 or so other teams that can say that. Yet VC still gets little respect outside of the TVC. It will always be that way until the Vikings can win a region or maybe even more than that for some. The Vikes have played in the TVC since its existance and their non league has been pretty good to average. This year has been pretty good with the likes of Piketon, South Webster, Logan Elm and Zane Trace to name a few. Heck even Logan was no pushover. Just ask Athens and Warren. Imo, either of these two have the potential to win by 10 points depending on who's hot and foul trouble. You don't make it this far by being mediocre. I'd expect a game in the 30s or 40s with the way these two play defence. Ill post a series history soon.

2003: Warren loses in sectional
2004: Warren loses first game
2005: #1 seed Warren loses to a lower seed
2006: #1 seed Warren loses in sectional to #5 seed
2007: Warren loses in sectional
2008: Warren makes it to Convo, but only has to win 1 game to do it. Also, they lose to a lower seed. Record 1-1
2009: same as previous year 1-1
2010 and 2011: finally has some success making it to the district final
2012: #1 seed Warren loses to #4 seed

I can't figure out why they keep getting high seeds when they constantly lose to lower seeded teams. I think coaches are under the impression that they play a tougher schedule. That is obviously not true, though, since they always lose to teams with inferior records. Warren is the most overrated team around!

Thanks for the bulletin board material. Hope Warren can show some of you posters that this trend is ready to be over and a new history will be ready to start. We have struggled at the Convo, but i think coach maddox has tried some new approaches this year to help that out. GO BLUE!! PROVE THEM ALL WRONG!!

If a coach has to use stuff on a message board to get his team ready, he would have to be awfully desperate. Hawkeyepierce, that was a quote I used last week on a thread. These folks know I'm not from VC. However, why do you care? Are you scared? I just get sick of hearing teams from the SEOAL talk about how great their league is.
