Martins Ferry knocked out my Cadets 51-50. They are big 6-8,6-6, 6-4,5-8. Not very deep lead by Tyler Schau wing (27ppg). They don't have the guards to win this game.

They are big that is for sure question is are they quick and athletic ?
Ironton has some speed and the whole Ironton group is ridiculously Athletic.

6-8 kid is a lanky freshman that plays but not ready. JR Rob Vargo is slow but at 6-6 260 he can move people and can get what he wants. Strama 6-4 Sr just uses his muscle to score. Nothing fancy they just want to pound it inside. Now Schau has some game he drives alot but also can stood the 3.Ironton is a 15 point fav.

I think Ironton will enter the game expecting to win, but will find Martins Ferry willing to slow the pace and work the ball to the big kids. If it's racehorse basketball then the Purple Riders better stay in the stall.
Ferry has lost twice to #5 D-II St. Clairsville, but no one in the East District bangs under the glass like the Riders.
If Martins Ferry wins it'll keep the score in the 50's....if Ironton does as I suspect it'll be a 25-point blowout.

He's big and quick and will give Carter fits in half court but it will wear him down and it will hurt MF on offense. He's the only one that can create his own shot.

Sure would like to see someone give them a good game.

ill take ironton by 14. i dont care who you throw at carter. hes too quick. i watched him in the ironton classic go against some quality guards and he went toe to toe.. i was very impressed even when he was outsized.. size doesnt matter when guarding carter, you better be FAST and just hope you can stay infront of him!!! .. this years schedule that ironton put together to play has got these boys ready for anything. ironton keeps on rolling!

Cincinnati Summit Country Day- Check them out. If Ironton makes it to State I would bet this is who they would play. Keep pushin on Tigers!

They will have to play a team from the northwest district, possibly Ottawa-Glandorf like Portsmouth last season(Lima CC, Bloom Carroll, and Huron are also possibilities). Summit Country Day would probably meet them in the finals if they can win the semi.IndianFan4life wrote:Cincinnati Summit Country Day- Check them out. Ironton by 18 to 20. Something like 74-56. Ironton's just too athletic. Very special team since they were little leaguers. Good luck Tigers.
