I hope your right, but I think thats asking an awful lot from this young man.

I was able to see River in a 7 on 7 at Bellaire Tuesday evening, they will be fine and surprise those that think they will be near the bottom of the pack.

Caldwells coaches solid are u serious? it has been down hill since Perkins has taken over he has never had any better than a 5-5 season I don't no how u can put then above any team in the PVC besides Shenandoah they lost there best player in Brian Magorian. I will be interested to see where Perkins can take this team.

Caldwell always has big strong lineman.. Players upfront like Cubas and Zach Miller will head up a steady line. Rbs- Bricker Lori and Andrew Minosky will be very good.. Carpenter is a good athlete. Tanner Clark will be a good QB. Only thing holding them back is Perkins.

Do you think Clark with be QB? I haven't heard much I just figured it would be between Carpenter and Manosky like last year. And I don't think Rossiter is going to be QB Shenandoah coach likes him better at WR it's Between Ethan McKee and Ryan Lovette

I figure the QB job will be a battle between Carpenter and Clark. Carpenter gives you some experience and is a good athlete, Clark gives you athleticism as well, and the chance to build for the future, being only a sophomore.

Reports I get is Monroe Central is the ONLY playoff possibility in PVC. Should go 8-2 or better if no season-ending injuries. Nixon, Brown, Jorris and some ol' Jay Circosta coaching magic.
Rest of the field should be Fort Frye, Trail, Frontier, Caldwell, Shenandoah, and River a big if depending on the QB.

I really like Trail who returns Morgan Daughtery QB and WR Tyler Starr. Also return 4 lineman. Ill go with 1. Noles 2. Warriors 3. Cadets 4. Caldwell 5. Fron 6. River 7. Shenandoah.

My brother told me Caldwell will be solid. Said they are going to win at least 7 ball games and should be good enough for a playoff spot in division seven this year. They were really young last year and played well the second half of the year from what he told me.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
While they did play well the second half of the year, that still only resulted in one win. I think 7 is a bit of a stretch. Gone are the likes of Harrison and Wheeling Central, replaced with Bridgeport and West M, both of which I know nothing about, but i'm not sure the Skins have really done enough to garner that much praise. I'm just not sold on the "old style" of ball that they played last year. Don't think it will work quite as well. I see this season more in the 4-6, 5-5 range, about the average for Perkins.newlex/sheridan wrote:My brother told me Caldwell will be solid. Will Trail be able to give Ridgewood a game in Week one, or will it resemble the last 3 years? Ridgewood was down last year by their standards anyway, and the game still got ugly pretty quickly. I would like to see Trail get back up towards the top of league, but I think EasternDspy's pick of second in the league is a little too optimistic. They do have some size and good athletes, but still a ways away from being a fundamentally sound football team IMHO. Do they have another new coach this year?

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
I'm more of a basketball and cross country guy but I enjoy football and go to the Redskin games as often as I can. They were playing really young kids, freshmen and sophomores with a handful of Juniors, last season. I didn't like watching the style of offense they ran last year but it was effective the second half of the season. I know they only won one of the last five games but they lost by a score at Central, Fort won the league and only beat us by a point so there was a lot to look forward to I'd say. I could see them beating Doah, Trail, River, and Frontier in the PVC. West M and Bridgeport are supposed to be terrible so that's six wins right there. They can play with Central and Fort and could knock off one of them. Not sure how Necomerstown is but usually aren't impressive and Barnesville will suck. I'd say seven wins is pretty accurate from the guy above. I could even see them getting to 8 or 9 wins.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
I think Barnesville will be solid this year. Fort Frye has talent but camp has not got off to a good start they lost Devin Waterman projected starting CB to Marietta transfer, and Tanner Rice projected cb/ rb quit. Then Chandler got this minor injury and is out til River. Might play in the jamboree vs Fed Hock.. Luke Yates 6-2 185 will be the starter at RB and DE and should have a big year. Taryn Huck and Colton Shuster will be the WRs but not sure either can get separation. Derek Layton 6-2 220 will be the fullback. Fort Frye also returns 4 starting lineman. I say 6-4 or 7-3.

Are they supposed to have much? I thought from last year they didnt return much talent.EasternDspy wrote:I think Barnesville will be solid this year.
