Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
I think Shenandoah is getting underestimated they don't play any cupcake out of conference games and the easily could have beat Newcomerstown and Meadowbrooke they are improving and I think they will win a game

Little info on the Caldwell/Bridgeport game from what I could find.
Clark with 101 yard through the air with 2 TD's and 1 rushing TD. Know one of the passing TD's was to Carpenter, not sure of the other. Bulldogs lone score came from a fumble which Caldwell caused, then proceeded to take an unfortunate bounce right into another Bulldogs hands and off to the endzone he went.

Fort Frye vs River game was the 1st game of the year and was Chandler Langs first time taking contact all year. He was so out of shape. I would not take much stock in that.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
yet I have seen you many times use the same comparison as a reference.
Not that what your saying may not be correct....but I'm just saying...lol

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
If you go by that . . . last year, Fort Frye lost to River in the opener and beat Monroe Central by four touchdowns, so if you're using River in week 1 as your measuring stick, looks to me like you should be pretty scared. The Cadets are way ahead of schedule.
Or, looking at things a little more realistically . . . the game with Waterford is the first solid game Fort Frye has had this season. The first half with River and first half with Belpre were both chock full of mistakes. This week's game was better, but I don't think The Cadets have put together an effort yet that will beat Monroe Central.

Yea Waterford game plan was so vanilla. Chan only carried the ball 6 times and passed 6 times. I think they tried to keep him healthy still had 5 TDs on 12 touches. They need to not make mistakes and play cleaner. Not sure if I'm sold on the DLine yet. The 2 LBs Lang and Layton have been lights out though. Also 6-2 Prittchard has been great as a cover CB.

So after the 3rd week of the season, how's everyone rank the PVC? Mine would be:
1. Fort Frye
2. Caldwell
2. Monroe Central
4. Buckeye Trail
5. Frontier
6. River
7. Shenandoah
Really debated on switching Frontier and River. I think River is the better team, but without a win its tough to give them that credit. They've played much better competition.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
1. Fort Frye (3-0) - Not sure how good they are they have not played the best schedule but record 3-0. Also they have leagues best player Chandler Lang (10 TDs) and he's has even been off to a slow start. Set the record for tackles in a game vs Belpre. Unsure about DL but LB core is fantastic Hall, Layton, and Lang. I think they should stick with the 4-3 and run 4 DBS because speed kills. Peanut Lockery has shown he can make plays.Cole Shuster has been really good rushing the ball he just needs to hold on to it 3 fumbles. 6-2 or 6-3 Zach Prittchard has been a load at WR and DB. If they can get the inner run game working with Yates and Layton this team can be real good. 2. Monroe Central (1-2) Did work stopping Sapp from River. Brown is a good tailback. Still big question marks at Oline. 3. Caldwell (2-1) They are big just not to creative. If they find more ways to use Clark they can be real good. I though they would beat Port by more. 4. Buckeye Trail (1-2) The 1st to weeks they have no run game and now Pountious??! Has a huge game.. 5. Frontier (1-2) They are young but talented. I like Barnes, Howell , Reynolds , Camino, Welker, Metheny and Absher. Just don't think they have the toughness yet. 6. River (0-3) to be honest did not think they were this bad. Yea the QB position is bad but the line seemed ok and Sapp is a good player. Not really going to miss them next year. 7. Shenandoah (0-3) Improving might beat Barnesville.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
Trail wins ugly. Backup Soph QB has int returned for TD and fumble returned for TD. 3 Int in 1st half. Daugherty returns in 2nd half but limited w/ partial shoulder separation. 4th & 20 w/ 41 sec left Soph Tyler Gadd hooks up with Sells on 40 yard TD. Trail goes for 2. Daugherty pass good for 22-21 comeback win.

Yes add frontier too. Forgot about them. They've got a lot of tough games coming up, still having to play the three teams mentioned previously.
