Scooter Tolzda has Monroe Central playing some entertaining basketball. Might be one of the better teams in school history before it's over.

They will have a big one in Beverly coming up. They got handed a butt kicking in Woodsfield. Fort Frye is different team in Beverly beat Doah 75-17.

Caldwell at River on Friday night, May be a miss match but the Redskins never seem to play well at River. The young pilots are struggling with scoring and that will be a problem against Caldwell. Hope it is an entertaining game.

They have played decent there with the current coaches. I know three years ago Caldwell beat them there because it was the first P.V.C. win in like four years. Two years ago it was an overtime game if I remember right and last year it was a three point game that Caldwell led most of the way. River always plays good D and Romick does a good job. I'm pretty sure they are the only team that has held Caldwell from scoring 60 this year. The final was like 54-31 or something.

River has only scored 50 points in two games, a victory over Frontier and a gift from Magnolia in a bad loss. They struggle when shooting the ball, they play good defense but make many turnovers. The problems with many young teams. They work hard. Their top 7 players from last years team graduated.

I don't know if the MC - Shenandoah game was a blowout that just got close at the end or not, but 16 points wasn't the spread I thought it would be.

MC is obviously a different team without Nixon, and Shadyside beat Bridgeport by 13 last night.

Good test of where both teams are right now.

River-Caldwell, nothing wrong with River's D, but they definitely struggle to score. I think they actually matchup with Caldwell better than they do most teams. Caldwell had 19 points the first half in game one before River tried to play catchup and allowed some easy shots late.

If Caldwell's game against Frontier is any indication, they seem to be playing well. My gut tells me this one could be closer than last time, but not sure River has enough offense to pull it off. If Caldwell makes 3's like against Frontier, then it's no contest.
